I am a twitter noob, and I am not sure the best way to use this trendy application, but I know it can be used for promoting events or projects....or funding drives. I was just wondering who here has a twitter account that would be willing to promote significant Imminst initiatives. Let me know.

Do we have any groups or something there?

it's kind of like a mass-SMS system. convenient way to connect to an individual or an organization and get hyper-updates, almost like press releases on steroids. i guess twitter helps the traditional 24 hr news cycle condense down to 15 second increments.... oh boy.

2. Imminst
3. Devon
4. We need a few more people
So we need a standard twitter message if we are going to attempt this (later this week). I know it can only be 140 characters. If anyone can come up with a good example, please post it here.
How about "Support important longevity research. Destroying cellular junk with lasers. http://www.imminst.org/archive/articles/la...rch-grant"
Or "Help battle age-related disease. A research grant: http://www.imminst.org/archive/articles/la...rch-grant"
On the second one, we could insert different diseases related to AGE build-up, and send out updates on a couple different days.
Also, anyone out there who is willing to put the research grant in your facebook status update, list yourself here. This is another popular application that we should be able to use to spread the message outside our normal circle of advocates.

I'll also be doing miscellaneous recruiting for those two days. If anybody wants to collaborate then meet me in the chat box on those days.

I just posted. Maybe we shouldn't say life extension or anti aging. I just said support aging research. Is this being disingenuous?
"Support Aging Research". That is perfectly fine.

Then there are also small incentives. As a volunteer a person gets entered in the monthly prize drawing. They also get their name published in sources like the imminst.org/newsletter.

We are looking for an interested candidate or two to help run this twitter page. It would be a flexible, low time commitment schedule with high impact rewards such as getting the word out, and inspiring more volunteers. Then also the small incentives, you would be entered in the volunteer prize drawing every month and have your name go in the imminst.org/newsletter
We are considering putting outreach like this, facebook outreach, media outreach, and the only currently running branch of it which is the VIP Outreach, all under one sub heading called something like "Outreach" with their own sub forums with in.

Apologize that I wasn't able to do more, at least we did secure the brand, early on. I just received an email from twitter, asking to confirm change of official account ownership, so came here to confirm it's originating from leadership. Sounds like that's a go, so will approve ASAP with gratitude for the initiative to take it to the next level. Onward!@silverton originally created the Imminst twitter page, but he does not manage it. People who manage the Imminst facebook fan page should also manage the twitter account.
