Does anyone know how many mgs. of Choline should be taken with Piracetam.

I have been taking 500mg of CDP Choline with 1500-2000mg of Piracetam once to twice daily.

Thanks,

Storm

Storm,

There are only a few "resident experts" who dispense advice. Give them a few days to answer your questions.

Also as a point of reference, my daily personal regiment includes 250 mg CDP choline for 2400mg piracetam

Pardon my ignorance, as I am a newbie in the nootropic realm, but what effects do you get from this combination, how long do you have to take this supplementation before it begins to work and how long can you stay on it for.

Thanks in advance

Storm:

500 mgs of choline in the form of cdp-choline is a great dose.

prometheus1:

Piracetam increases the rate in which you use acetylcholine, taking choline with piracetam not only keeps your acetycholine high, but also enhances its memory effects.

This effect can be noticed in 1-2 weeks normally.

Forever.

LifeMirage:

Thanks for the response...What is your opinion on stacking Piracetam with Rodiola Rosea, it seems to me that this with CDP Choline and Vinpocetine would make for a very good Nootropic stack. Your opinion?

Piracetam 1500-2000mg daily
Rhodiola Rosea 500-750mg daily
CDP Choline 500mg daily
Vinpocetine 20-30mg daily

I recommend a 10:1 ratio of piracetam:CDP-choline. More probably won't hurt though.

Is it necessary to buy CDP Choline as opposed to just Choline? Everywhere I have looked the CDP Choline (I've only found it from Jarrow) has been much much more expensive that the Choline from other companies.

Is Lecithin (phosphatylcholine) a proper choice as well?

Not necessary. But involves consuming less powder and CDP-choline has independent nootropic effects.

It has higher bioavailability and a longer half-life but you have to take a lot of it.

Phosphatidylcholine is often used to treat liver disorders, because of it's affect on cell membrane fluidity. It is also a good "delivery form" of choline, but most of it is used by the liver and various other tissues with very little actually crossing the blood brain barrier. I supplement with PC not to increase acetylcholine levels, but to keep my liver clear of fat accumulation. I usually take about 500 mg of Choline Bitarate per 1600 mg of Piracetam, which from my subjective experience seems to work well. I have yet to try CDP Choline or Alpha GPC, mainly because of their price and my sufficient quality experience with the use of the bitarate form.

will CDP Choline cross the blood brain barrier on its own, eliminating the need for pantothenic acid?

Pantothenic acid (B5) dosen't help choline cross the blood brain barrier, it converts choline to acetylcholine (mostly in the brain).

"The uptake of CDP-choline by the brain is low. However, choline and cytidine may be taken up by the brain. Within the brain, cytidine and choline may be metabolized via a few steps to CDP-choline, which can serve as a substrate for phosphatidylcholine synthesis." (PDR)

Hello!

I am a law student and becouse I would like to improve my memory I decided to try some smart drugs.
I ordered Vinpocetine, Piracetam and Get smart (vinpocetine 10 mg, Huperzine A 100 mcg, picamilon 50 mg, pyritinol 175 mg, DMAE 75 mg, CDP Choline 10 mg, Rhodiola rosea 3% 75 mg)

I have no expirience about smart drugs so I would like to get some of your opinion about what could be the best choice and the dose.

I am healthy I don`t know is this forum for healthy peope or for some who have memory problems?
I am using Zoloft (I was depresed) but I think I will stop taking soon.
I don`t know if smart drugs can be taken if you use Zoloft?

I find this article of James South M.A. I have find this text but didn´t understand very well.

Thus the Piracetam-nootropics would NOT be prone to the (often serious effects of drugs which directly amplify or inhibit neurotransmitter c e.g. MAO inhibitors, Prozac-style "selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, tricyclic antidepressants, amphetamines, benzodiazepines, etc.

So please give me some advice!

Thank you!
