iHerb is now stocking Thorne Research.

I'm thinking of ordering some of their products.

Who here takes this brand?

Any and all input is greatly appreciated.

Bump time.

Surely somebody here on Imminst has experience with the Thorne brand.

So step up and speak up, please :)

At a glance on iherb they are far too expensive to compete with any traditional brands like Now or Jarrow. I don't see any compelling reason to buy anything from them.

Do they offer any unique products or formulas?

I recall reading somewhere that they are considered a reputable brand (although I forget where I read that). They seem to have good testing labs and such, at least.

As for unique products, one thing that caught my eye was their zinc sulfate solution. It's a lot cheaper than Zinc Status (appropriately used for testing, well... zinc status).

Their multis all seem to suffer from too much vitamin E, alpha-only. Except their children's multi, which actually looks okay except for the iron. It might be a good multi for women at a partial dose.

That was the first thing I too noticed when I scanned the listings. Pricey stuff indeed. Not much of a discount.

They might. I'll get back to you on that.

Fractionated Pectin Powder - haven't seen that produced by anyone else (though I haven't looked especially hard). There's at least one research paper that used this as an anti-cancer agent.

i've traded emails w/ thorne research from aways back, when i was looking at multivitamins. i didnt like how they handled Vitamin E (if i recall). i kind of liked their multivitamins (they had 5 versions) except for this vitamin E issue.

i think they had a ton of alpha tocopherol vitamin E in their multi-vitamins. i asked them why they didn't have all 8 types of vitamin E in their pill and they said, "well it's hard to do, hard to formulate that."

but I think they do sell a standalone Vitamin E pill with all 8 types of vitamin E (or at least one that is high in gamma-tocopherol). So why not exclude Vitamin E from your multi and tell your customers to take the standalone Vitamin E pill with a multi if they want vitamin E? "well.. we gotta have vitamin E in our pills!!!"

didnt make sense to me...

What do you think of their product ResveraCel? It combines NR and Trans-Resveratrol

I live in Spain and always purchase at iHerb, this brand looks like top-notch but who knows. This thingie is just too expensive to "hey just try it and see what happenz" and waste my money.
