Not much experience with wellbutrin, but can't you just not take it one day and take the RR instead?
RR didn't do anything for me, i'm not depressed though so that's probably why.

I've taken it with Wellbutrin before with no problem-o. I took low doses of a 1%/3% extract. I never exceeded 300mgs a day Rho and 300mgs. Wellbutrin.

I've done it.... I'm still here. Can't give you a much better answer right now.

There is absolutely no conflict with Rhodiola and Wellbutrin, but your doctor would probably tell you to back off on the dosage of the Wellbutrin once the Rhodiola kicks in (2-3 weeks). Use a therapeutic brand of Rhodiola -- forget the 1% 3% horse manure and go for the top brand you can. "Standardization" is a crock of industry BS that lets marginal products like store brands into the market. 90% of the Rhodiola on the market here is all from the same, mediocre source. Find the OTHER 10%. That's the full spectrum, Siberian type.I've taken it with Wellbutrin before with no problem-o. I took low doses of a 1%/3% extract. I never exceeded 300mgs a day Rho and 300mgs. Since bupropion (wellbutrin) and rhodiola both have cumulative effects and long half-lives, the answer to this question is definitively "no". Also, if anybody does try skipping a day of wellbutrin, DO NOT try double-dosing the next day to "make up" for your lost day: that's how the statistically unfortunate get seizures.
For a good source of Rhodiola, try Biotest's. It's high quality and cheap, as far as I know.

Rhodiola rosea is a relatively weak MAO Inhibitor, so if you limit yourself to the recommended dose, I wouldn't worry much about a possible interaction. I know of one prominent psychiatrist---Dr. Richard Brown, Columbia University---that has used rhodiola rosea successfully for years as an adjunct therapy to other antidepressants.you're not supposed to take MAOIs with wellbutrin, and RR is one. so if i wanna try out RR i need to get off of WB?

I hate to be a party crasher, but why not consult your psychiatrist? Perhaps rhodiola rosea isn't going to create a huge interaction, but it would be preferable if taking pharmaceuticals to talk with your doctor about any interactions. You pay them for a reason you know
.
Best of luck.

I take 450mg of bupropion a day (along with some adderall), never had any problems with rhodiola.

Indeed, I think a consultation with your psychiatrist should go without saying. The combined experience and knowledge of members of forums such as these can be of an immense help, but few of us (if any) are qualified to provide expert medical advice. Just familiarize yourself with the relevant literature, and bring copies for your psychiatrist to review.I hate to be a party crasher, but why not consult your psychiatrist? "you're not supposed to take MAOIs with wellbutrin, and RR is one"..... Not to be a wise guy but didn't you just answer your own question? Maybe there is a reason that these warnings are given out. Here is a quote from http://www.paxilprog...php?t=12877.... "After 3 days, 50mg of Rhodiola conflicted with the Wellbutrin I'm taking and caused my blood pressure to go up to an uncomfortable level (I was terrified)" Hope that helps
