I came across an interesting article from Psych Central regarding the potential for Elavil(amitryptaline) to induce Neuro Growth factor. Elavil

I dont think it induces the release of Nerve Growth Factor. Rather it mimics it. Heres a link to the article http://www.scienceda...90625133059.htm
It interested me because i take it for neuropathic pain due to nerve damage in my back. Its interesting if it has the potential to reverse nerve damage at all but it definatly has no nootropic potential, trust me. Some days i have to skip it just so i can get work done because it effects my concentration so much.

Have you tried supplementing with idebenone?

An otherwise healthy person taking ANY tricyclic is a scary thought. In the same league as sniffing glue.
