We are now recruiting for this section.

We need somebody to stay with this list and finish up contacting every school board in the United States in this A through Z listing: http://www.directory...-schools/US.htm

We will list the contacts that we have already made here. We have around 80 copies of the book LifeQuest to disseminate for this branch of Outreach. That is, unless they are used for other parts of the outreach first. LifeQuest is a compilation of short stories about Cryonics, Uploading, and other Transhumanism adventures. It is written to inspire people to want to support the cause. We can also disseminate copies of Ending Aging upon request and depending on funds available.

We have one letter written to school boards as outlined below, but it needs to be improved upon for future rounds.

Im with the Advocates & Researchers for Unlimited Lifespans at Imminst.org.

Research into unlimited lifespans is underway, and the cause is growing. You may not have heard about this burgeoning field of science and philosophy. It's the idea that doing something to slow down, halt, or even reverse the aging process in people, is an ethical and necessary goal. This is to combat the myriad amount of age related diseases that presently kill over 100,000 people a day. This is also ethical in that we believe life has tremendous worth for everyone on this planet.

This might sound radical at first, but many people, including many polls of people, show that the majority of people in many countries, including the U.S., would like to live longer lives. Whether deeply religious, or not, we believe life is a wonderful thing that shouldn't go to waste. There is a lot of discussion and action, established online non-profits working for the cause, and research going on in labs right now, trying to do something about prolonging life. One of the things that is happening right now with life extension, is what Dr. Aubrey de Grey, (a British bio gerontologist,) is doing with his SENS Foundation. His idea, and foundation, is working right now in labs throughout the country whereby they are combating the 7 causes of aging. They do this using an engineering approach that will ultimately include a variety of therapies, including stem cell rejuvenation type of therapies, which in short, could repair damaged cells in our bodies.

Dr. de Grey has been featured on several American and English TV shows, including 20/20, with Barbra Walters in a special called "How to live to 150." He has also been on a popular BBC documentary, the Colbert Report, and a recent documentary on the History Channel. There is much more going on in this field as well including a prize that is up in the multimillions that will be awarded to a scientist that can keep a mouse alive the longest. I will also send you an email with the links to these sites.

The reason I am contacting you, is because we want to inform students and teachers more about what could be the most important human rights cause ever imagined. We here at imminst.org, believe every life is precious and thus worth fighting for! We want to send you a copy of a book called LifeQuest. We have recently been granted 100 copies of this book to disseminate, from another of the affiliates in this field, the co founders of the Alcor Life Extension Foundation. If you are interested in receiving more copies for use in a class that you may be able to work it in to, then let us know. Please talk to teachers you think you may find to be interested in receiving more of these for their students. If you can, please encourage your colleagues to read the book and give it a review at amazon.com. We will send you these books for free. These particular books are fictional, but they spark ideas and discussion about this crucial cause. We also disseminate copies of bio gerontology engineering science for the laymen, called “Ending Aging” by Aubrey de Grey PHD and Michael Rae.

We want to get professors and students opinions on life extension, whether good or bad. To that end please consider asking teachers to make a request for as many free copies of LifeQuest or Ending Aging as they can make use of, so that perhaps, for instance, students might write an essay on the subject. We could even work out a prize to a winning essay. We would also like to invite interested students and professors to attend an online broadcast and chat called the Sunday Evening Update at imminst.org/tv. There have been many prominent scientists and enthusiasts who have been on our show, including biologist Michael Rose, Ray Kurzweil's doctor, biologist Cynthia Kenyon, and many more.

This is also part of the philosophy of Transhumanism which is a subset of humanism. It is the idea that each of us has tremendous worth as people, living on this planet, and that life right now is just too short; thus limiting our goals, dreams, and even the wonders of sharing the world with loved ones and friends. Many people, like me, would love to stay young longer, and believe it or not many great thinkers and scientists believe it is possible; the question is when.

My name is Devon Fowler and I would be happy to speak with you over the phone, or in email, anytime that you may want to. Below is my contact information.

Thanks, and each new letter is subject to improvement. If somebody wants to propose a new one then please do. As to your question, why arent you contacting school boards? I mean, you control the ideology of the future by controling what your kids are exposed to, and school boards control what kids are exposed to.

Yes but given the psychology and politics behind such a move, a school board might look upon this with little regard, especially the south. They'll probably see this as a scam or cult. But I hope it works anyway!

My advice is to also contact professors from liberal colleges, because they have a big influence on their students especially philosophy, sociology, and english professors.

Also private school tend to have a custom teaching schedule while public ones tend to all teach the same generic stuff, I think we could also have more luck with the school boards of private schools.

Contacting school boards is a bad idea. You're going to generate ten larry johnsons for every person that decides to give it half a chance

I can not beleive that you guys are against this outreach.

Maybe your right, I dont know. We are gathering feedback from these first groups of school board outreaches, and Ill report back here. Im suspending the school board outreach until then.

In the mean time though, for weeks now Ive been looking for a good list of University Outreach to work with. Its been hard finding a good list though. We are looking for a good target crowd to get these LifeQuest books out to through this for one. Do you think that sociology professors will work best? Or general liberal arts listings? Im not sure if philosophy prefessors would make such great contacts, I mean, they are used to questioning radical ideas. It seems like this would just be another run of the mill radical idea to disect for them. Should we find a listing of carreer counselors? Academic advisors?

We can send copies of Ending Aging to listings of certain kinds of science professors. I need a listing of them if somebody can find some good national or world a through z listings.

This is a very good Idea, we must contact every possible thing including school boards. Have you gathered any feedback from the schoolboards you have contacted yet Brokenportal?

I personaly do not think you should send a book about transhumanism and cryonics called lifequest to school boards, I support Transhumanism but I don't think that the general population is ready to injest transhumanistic ideals yet. I think we should just focus on advocating life extension research because If we do not advocate life extension research properly, we will not be able to live long enough to become transhumans.
I think we should just send a copy of the book Ending aging because advocating anti aging research is what I personally think the most important thing at this stage.

I'm located in Oceania, could I help with reaching people in that area as well?
