how often can one take phenibut so as to keep tolerance at bay? also, is there a permanent tolerance that develops like with some drugs where it's never like the first few times?

Not sure about permanent tolerance. By considering the effects of the drug on the GABA system, wise users would limit use no more than a couple times a week and at doses below 1g with periodic abstinence for week long periods.

I like to get, at the very least, a week in between doses. I'll still build up a little tolerance though, it wont be increasing tolerance. Personally it takes three weeks before I feel that if I take it, I wont feel a tolerance.

I use only 1.5g. This is my optimum dose, either side of which, the feeling isn't as good.

I agree with this as a general rule of thumb for supplementing phenibut at this dose. I also have had similar experience with tolerance even if I use it once a week.

Do you experience tolerance from the effects on anxiety/mood, sleep quality, or both?

I once had the unfortunate experience of insomnia for a couple days after trying to sleep without phenibut when I had used it for the previous 4-5 days. My mood was awful for those days, but I would say that was the effect of being unable to sleep properly.

Since I take phenibut very infrequently now, I usually have incredibly vivid dreams and I sleep without waking for almost 10 hours. The effect on dream vividness almost completely disappears from subsequent phenibut dosings if taken within 2 weeks of the previous dose. This incredible impact on tolerance has caused me to think twice about taking more than 0.5 g of phenibut more than twice in a month.

Speaking of tolerance, I bought a bunch of Phenibut from RI and kept it in the fridge since I don't use it often. It used to be one of my favorite supps. I used to be able to take it every other day and still get effects.

Now when I take it, I get no effects. Zero. It makes no difference how long I wait in between doses. I've waited months before dosing and it still does nothing.

Is it possible the refrigeration caused this problem?

Man I don't know what's up with you people. I just take it whenever and I've never had a problem. Last week I took it like 4 days in a row, didn't notice any change in effect or any withdrawal. And I was taking 1 gram-ish each time. I can't imagine it would be possible to build up tolerance to anything when taking it like once every two weeks as some people are talking about here. Maybe you guys just have bad phenibut.

Though I should note that I often go weeks and sometimes months without taking it. I just use it whenever I'm stressed or need help sleeping and the idea pops into my head. I will say the effects don't seem to be as strong as they were when I first started taking it. But that's a positive in my book because my first few doses of phenibut practically left me stoned.
