Choline is converted into a brain neurotransmitter called acetylcholine and piracetam ups the amount of acetylcholine if there is enough choline supplementation. If the choline supplementation doesn't meet the acetylcholine demand set by piracetam, you'll get a brain fog. That's how I've understood it.Why do you need to take a choline source with piracetam...in laymans terms

choline helps some people who get the racetam headaches, and it's also pretty good for getting rid of a little racetam-related brain fog. if you don't find yourself suffering from either of those, then it's probably not all that necessary to supplement choline because your body seems to be able to keep up with the Ch >> ACh conversion. not all people get the racetam foggies, but a lot do, me included.

in laymans terms... you don't need to at all.

This is true. I happen to not have any problems taking racetams without choline. I thought I did, but then I had my wife administer a little double blind experiment on me and I found out it was in my head.
