I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to the intricacies of blood analysis. I would love to be able to run some tests in a home environment (mainly hormones: testosterones, LH, FSH, thyroids, etc.). Is there currently an automated way to run these tests? Maybe a not-so-automated way that is still possible in a home environment? What equipment/expertise is needed?

Thanks.

At the moment it requires some pretty expensive equipment which is why its only done in hospital hematology labs.

The tests you can do cheaply at home are for things like blood glucose, cholesterol and triglycerides.

In terms of the future you may be eventually looking at something like this:

How expensive? Are we talking about tens of thousands of dollars?

Cappa: I have no idea sorry but probably in the 5grand plus range. Probably much better things to spend your money on.

You can though take your blood sample at home and send it in through a lab like ZRT lab.
