I want some whey protein that will last a couple of months if I spend a good 50$ on it. In all honesty I don't think whey is worth that much and has been mass produced for years so what gives with the pathetic prices most vendors have for a mere 2 week supply of it? Spending 50$ should get you months worth IMHO! So, any good online vendors?

Please don't recommend Iherb because I don't see too much in the way of cheap whey protein there. I want like a 100 servings for like 50$

Oh and nothing with sucralose or any other garbage like that in it.

So far the closest I have come is this product which contains 45 servings for 29.37 so purchasing two of these would come to about 60$ even and contain 90 servings. I still feel I can do better than this though. Drop me some links, i'm sure there are sites that sell cheaper whey than Iherb does. Thanks.

Another problem with that product is that it only has 16 grams of protein per serving. I want something with at least 20-25 grams per serving.

Best price so far. But I haven't explored the other sites yet. They seem slightly difficult to navigate but i'm going to try now.

NOW 100% Pure Whey Protein Isolate (Natural) Unflavored (Mega Pack) 10 lbs

I don't know if this is unique, or even unusual, but I really like the taste of NOW whey isolate.

It's a blend though, unlike the NOW one which is an isolate.
crossfiltered Isolate = No oxidized cholesterol, and includes the various fractions in milk.
("beta-lactoglobulin, alpha-lactalbumin, immunoglobulins and Glycomacro Peptides")

DPSNutrition.com has always been very cheap. I use scivation's solution-5 MRP that just came out. Love that thing.

Wait, which one has oxidized cholesterol in it? Whey protein powders generally are not high enough in cholesterol to make a significant impact either way. And besides dietary cholesterol is of little concern. What I am getting though about the blend is that part of it consists of denatured whey protein and part of it consists of isolated whey.

I've wondered about this too. But most dietary cholesterol isn't oxidized, unless you eat/drink dry dairy powders, etc.

However, once processed by heat and such, I believe the cholesterol does become oxidized (at least based on what I have read). If the amounts in whey are a problem or not... not sure. To be safe, I just go with an isolate with 0 cholesterol.

The majority of the whey protein on that site contains maltodextrin and crap like that. No thanks.

I prefer eating ricotta cheese post-workout and exclude taking any whey.

It's cheaper and presumably the insulin spike won't be as high as whey milkshakes since it is solid food.

What about Galactose from pastuerized dairy though? And I have no idea why people would mix whey with milk instead of water. Ricotta cheese is really cheaper if you are looking to supplement 50 grams of protein per serving?

the NOW and true protein recession blends have really low methionine. that's 1.65% methionine for the recession blend. pretty nice...

The galactose content is negligible for the amount consumed after workout (and only after workout). One can certainly afford this small damage when eating low-carb.

However, I would like to find a good source of undenatured whey as ricotta cheese is pasteurized.

Do you realize that the cumulative damage of eating pastuerized dairy is not too different (AGEs build up) than that caused by refined carb consumption?

The now foods Whey isolate looks promising.

Gentlemen (and ladies if there happen to be any reading this) give me your informed opinion(s), what is better:

Now Foods, Whey Protein Isolate, Natural Vanilla

* Cross-Flow Microfiltered
* All Natural, No Aspartame, No Sucralose, No Acesulfame-K
* GMP Quality Assured

Ingredients:
Cross-Flow Microfiltered Whey Protein Isolate (providing ß-lactoglobulin, a-lactalbumin, Immunoglobulins and Glycomacro Peptides), Fructose, Natural Flavors, Xanthan Gum, Soy Lecithin and Stevia rebaudiana Herbal Extract. Contains milk and soy derivative.

Contains no salt, yeast, wheat, gluten, egg shellfish or preservatives.

Bluebonnet Nutrition, Whey Protein Isolate

* No artificial sweeteners/flavors
* Low sodium/cholesterol

Unlike the common practice of using a heat-processes whey protein isolate that can denature (render useless) the protein and immunoglobulins, Bluebonnet employs a special low-temperature method, which leaves the protein and immunoglobulins intact.

Ingredients:
Undenatured whey protein isolate, natural vanilla flavor.

Free of egg, fish, crustacean shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, corn, yeast, gluten, barley, rice and sugar.

Or do you know of a better quality (read: not determined by price) protein on iHerb.com? I was previously using Jarrow Formulas, Whey Protein, Unflavored but I believe this is a concentrate and not isolate. Cheers :)

How low can you go? I ordered from MuscleFeast.com 31.99 for 5 lbs. If you order more than $50, you get free shipping:

http://www.musclefea...Isolate-p5.html

It's a great, pure undenatured isolate -- much better than anything I've found in stores. Even my kids like it!

The site is: xfmuscle.com

trueprotein.com charges double shipping I notice. Whereas most people charge about 5$ for a 3 lb whey protein, they seem to charge 10$. To me that is not acceptable.
