Back in 1996 in Java Island, when any psychotropics could be bought OTC in any pharmacies, I bought some Ritalin 20mg and couples of benzos.

At that moment, I was using a diet pill called Tenuate Dospan 75mg ( Diethylpropion), prescribed by a GP in Australia. ( I used it for the purpose of study, as it was hard for me to get any Nootropics or Ritalin ( Methylphenidate) nor amphetamine-salts.)

With Diethylpropion, I could concentrate long and the effect was very good.

By the time I tried Ritalin, it barely had any effects. I could say it was 5 times weaker than the diet pill. ( As far as I know, diet pills are much weaker than any stimulants used for ADHD.)

Anyone has ever tried Ritalin and compared its effect with amphetamine-salts or diet pills ?

Don't have much experience with either but the first thing that comes to mind is quality of the Ritilan based on where you bought it from.
