Researchers have developed polymer nanoparticle armor to help enzymes last longer, so that they don't denature as quickly. If a biological synthetic pathway could be found to manufacture these, then perhaps we could create new types of extremophiles to withstand rigorous conditions, perhaps for industrial processes.
