Hello,

I am 19 and have been struggling with ADD-I, depression, social anxiety, daytime sleepyness, executive functioning, spatial issues etc etc.

I have tried almost every treatment, the only thing that works is the initial honeymoon period of dopaminergic stims. It's like a light flips on and for the 4-8 hours, I'm happy, motivated, able to concentrate, no longer have social anxiety... I am completely fixed. Then comes the crash, I get needy, depressed and unmotivated again but 100x worse. I recently tried vyvance, and it is smoother but still does not last long enough, the initial mood/ anxiety alleviation was gone etc.. the usual complaints about tolerance.

After doing alot of research, I think my best bet would be to do a Selegiline/ memantine protocal and I have a couple questions.

1. What should I start my dosages at?
2. How should I titrate?
3. Where does nicotine, piracetam, choline, L-Dopa, Tyrosine, 5-HTP and SJW play into all of this (all stuff I have been playing around with).
4. How can I sell this to my Dr.?
- I was not able to find studies of this combo for use in ADD, SAD or MDD.
-Theoretically, the memantine blocks the glutamate agonism and thus prevents shutdown/ tolerance right?
5. No known long term detrimental effects right? even my age?
6. This can get me the honeymoon dopamine effects back, correct?

I know this is not studied nor accepted in the mainstream but I am willing to try anything at this point. I have seen enough studies to know it does not hurt, and enough n=1 to know it might work...and I just have a feeling about this. Everything I have heard just makes sense. If my doc does not buy this, what is the legality of buying these non scheduled substances and importing them... I know it's not highly illegal, but I am applying to some government agencies for internships and I have to be able to say I have not taken any illegal drugs.

I will post my results and hopefully you guys can benefit from my experience.

Thanks in advance

Well.... two quick things. First off, don't get too happy about any of those things in #4..... ACh stuff like choline and maybe piracetam are one thing.. (I simply don't know either way--could be horrible to mix with!), but especially with SJW .. don't mix that in with this combo... or be very very careful. SJW and Selegiline will overlap very easily (in a bad way--tolerance and all + bad symptoms) - nicotine is just plain not gonna help most of anything ;P especially if you're taking piracetam. As far as your Tyrosine intake, definitely watch it on the Dopa/Tyrosine... with too much with the MAO-B inhibition from selegiline could be a dangerous combo as well.

As for tolerance, Namenda (memantine) is an NMDA antagonist in nature, from what I recall.... I have run into a thread recently that has been discussing how NMDA antagonism (if the side effects are tolerable for you) is actually really quite effective for 'reversing' this so-called honey-moon phase you speak of. The discussion can be found over here...

There are a few studies quoted in there, and some peoples' experiences.. to read through if you wish to get more information (DXM is also an "NMDA antagonist"). BUT, that's not to say I recommend using it, or anything else really. In fact, I must underscore that I'm not a medical professional.. I can only safely make claims for what NOT to do if those things seem from my experience like you need to know to avoid. :|? There may be other immediate warnings! Keep searching, good luck!
