I wonder to what degree would I get flamed if I say,
Greed is prerequisite to the pursuit of immortality. A father of all greed that human kind has ever conceived/faced.
Well, I would say that greed is a prerequisite of not supporting indefinite life extension. People that are so lazy that they would rather do nothing and die, than do something and live are greedy with their time. If they are non chalant about imminent death barrelling down on them then that is also greedy because we dont want other people to be dead. We want to be able to meet them, work on into the future with them, check things out with all other people.
That reminds me of the quote,
