I was taking 150MG of Wellbutrin XR and felt very good on it. However, i felt serious cognitive effects, i.e., it felt like i was straining to think, and i had no short term memory.

I got a PX for 100 MG of Wellbutrin SR, and i am thinking if I need a bit more boost, I could supplement with tyrosine or l phenylalanine. i don't want to induce a seizure, but because the Wellbutrin is low, and I am taking a low dose of tyrosine or l phenylalanine it should be safe.

Is this a good idea? Does anyone have any other ideas of how to offset the cognitive issues associated with Wellbutrin use?

You might be safe taking only 100mg Wellbutrin with Tyrosine. However, I wouldn't recommend it if you are looking to correct "cognitive issues" because from my many experiences mixing the two, wellbutrin + tyrosine is a recipe for confusion and frustration.

Yes, that is sooo true. I went off Wellbutrin SR 150 mg for several weeks trying to manage my depression by various nootropics, exercise, etc. but it didn't work quite well so I started taking Wellbutrin again along with L-Tyrosine and it made me very agitated, I'd snap for no reason and just feel edgy - overstimulated. I took 500mg Phenibut and it went away but jeeez....I'm not mixing those two ever again.
