Has Dan Buettner been on the Sunday Evening Update? Our outreach team should invite him!

Thanks for posting that modelcadet. One of the better
mainstream interviews with Aubrey I've seen.

This is definitely the kind of publicity Aubrey and the movement needs! Dr. Sanjay Gupta (spelling) is a huge celebrity these days! He's been on every main stream talk show possible. This is quite big, probably in the same category as the 20/20 show!

Yes, I thought this was a great interview. Aubrey came off as entirely sane, reasonable, and respectable. He's really an amazing spokesman. He also mentioned the funding problem, without at all seeming to be begging for money, pointing out that at the moment we are mostly funded by visionary private benefactors, and mentioning that we could effectively deploy a lot more money. That may help to attract some more visionary donors to the cause. The meme is getting more mainstream by the day, and I expect that people may start putting some pressure on their congresspeople to move a little funding in this direction. Considering the demographic catastrophe we are facing in terms of medical costs, it's really a no brainer. Thanks for the clip, modelcadet.

This is another fantastic tool. Be sure to add it to your tool boxes for the cause, and use it, everybody.

I feel like we're already getting used to this. 2 years ago this interview would have blown me out of my seat. Now its becoming the norm. Its a great sign of the rapidly accellerating times. So like has been outlined before, shovel now, every shovel full is like 100 shovel fulls in this day and age, in a cause like this, at a stage like this.

Remember when Sanjay Gupta sat on the board for the American Express give away we worked with? I remember thinking how crucial that could be if Gupta would just by chance actually have our entry run across us desk. Well now its even better than that. Not only does he know about this, Aubrey explained it to him face to face.

The Aubrey interviews continue to pick up, and so do others. Be sure to prepare also yourself for future potential interviews that you might encounter. Things are picking up a bit everywhere, and sure to only continue to accellerate and eventually reach critical tipping points and explode from here. For example, Mind, Luigi Fontana and I were recently interviewed, David Styles was recently on ITV, Shannon recently presented at an H+ meeting, and those are just the few that I can name off the top of my head.

To me, it seems that almost every single day now is becoming measureably, noticeably better than the last.

Great Interview!!!

Dan Buettner views seem to be rather off, but anyway, Aubrey totally stole the show with his presence and charisma, and of course his ideas and vision. Gupta was visibly thrilled by Aubrey.

Sanjay Gupta has been supportive of extreme life extension in the past-including cryonics: http://www.amazon.co...y/dp/0446526509. I twittered this video to share it, but yes I agree that it was a great interview! I also love that Sanjay was picked to be the US Surgeon General for Obama (he passed) but he has great connections, and I'm sure Obama must have read his book--or at least been briefed about it along with all sorts of aspects of Sanjay's life and background before he was asked to be Surgeon General. I hope Sanjay covers cryonics on an upcoming episode &). This interview covered many of the objections that normally come up about extreme life extension perfectly, and also with the time allocated was able to map out the routes that we many attain extreme life extension. Excellent :)

I have a tendency to be critical, but after watching this video three times I've come to the conclusion that this interview's content and presentation are virtually flawless. On every gradable criteria this interview scores an A+. Echoing BP's sentiments, we should disseminate this video as widely as possible.

Also, if there's any doubt about how far the life extention meme has come, try imagining an interview like this taking place in 2003.

I would of given him A+ also had he not been wearing pink socks, hehe. I really like watching interviews with Aubrey, he comes across as very passionate and knowledgeable

Fantastic! CNN is very popular, and so is Dr. Gupta. This is a very big step in helping us spread the longevity message. The more accustomed people are to hearing about this, the faster the research in aging will occur because people will realize it is feasible and fund it!

Thanks for this post, and thanks goes out to Aubrey for doing this interview :).

this is all really exciting and I'm glad some imminst members are enthused as well...yes, Aubrey came across almost perfectly. The one flaw I saw was when he sounded a bit boastful of his own favorable genetics. I think he should have left this out as I think it made him sound a tiny bit irrational, as no one truly knows how they're lifespan will play out. Although I have no doubt he maybe as healthy as he claims; I just think he should have left his own personal thoughts on this aside.

Other than that he was forthright and candid about what he truly thinks is possible, and Dr. Gupta really seemed excited!

Do you need anything special loaded to view this video? All I get
is a black background (latest IE loaded, Youtube works fine too.) Thanks!

I have a copy of Buettner's book and I've skimmed through parts of it.

I wonder how much of the "blue zone" effect depends on genetic adaptations to the local food producing ecosystem. For example, if the populations of Sardinia and Okinawa switched diets (though I suspect Okinawans would have to cut out the dairy because of lactose intolerance), would they still enjoy their good health and longevity?

Model Will Lewis- a stand in if a film is ever made, or a possible lookalike actor during dramatic reenactments for the inevitable Science Channel documentary:
