I would like to make a list like that. Just a simple one that is easy to read and navigate from, with links to separate threads, wiki and articles.

I would also like to add notes for each that would indicate if it is counterproductive with others.

Please post what should be added to the list and under what category it's primary function best fits and if there's something you find incorrect, please just say that and it'll be changed.

Stimulants

Modafinils, etc.

Modafinil

Adrafinil

Armodafinil

ACh-Supps

Pure

Alpha GPC

CDP-Choline

Choline Bitartrate

Choline Citrate

Choline Chloride

With additional function

Centrophenoxine

DMAE?

AChE-Inhibitors

Huperzine A

Galathamine

Tacrine

Huprine X

Vasodilators

Vinpocetine

Other stuff, please help me place them:

'Racetams

Piracetam

Aniracetam

Oxiracetam

Pramiracetam

Picamilon (Both a Vasodilator and Anxiolytic, but works by releasing GABA and Niacin in the brain)
CoQ10
Hydergine and other Ergots.
Pyritinol
Rhodiola
Gingko
Bacopa

Apparently, the 'Racetams aren't stimulants, so i'd like to edit the post. However, there seems to be a time-limit on editing...

This is an EXCELLENT idea for a new list. We definitely need some coordinated effort, rather than all the useless threads we see, here is an example of a useless thread that was destined to go nowhere since its initial post:

A master list will be far more useful than isolated threads

Wow, sorry for criticizing your useless post, I can see it made you angry. But come on, you actually go in another thread and say "here is an example of a useless thread".

To the OP: the wikipedia article for nootropics has a pretty comprehensive categorized list of nootropics. That's why I thought it would be useful to have people actually post the 5 best nootropics, rather than have to sort through a list of hundreds of drugs and websites, and spend thousands of dollars and years of time to figure out which ones of those hundreds of drugs is most useful.

The Wikipedia article is cluttered. It's full of things like rosemary, creatine, and just "tea" which are not really useful nootropics. I think it's appropriate, this being a nootropics forum, to have a list like this around somewhere. Now if only the OP can figure out how to edit the list...

Dude, modafinil isn't a stimulant either. It has similar effects but isn't classified as one.
For instance, before I built up a high tolerance to caffeine, an energy drink made me alert and feel like I could do a ton of math, but it also made me wanna run around in circles for fun.
Nuvigil on the other hand just gives me that feeling of brainpower but not the energy along with it, which makes it way easier to concentrate.

Yeah, i'm doing a bit more in-depth research. My EDIT-button has disappeared again, so i can't really change stuff as i go, but i'm making a word doc and once i feel it's done, i'll make an evaluation, correction and additions thread and once i feel there's been enough, i'll make the final thread and hope to get it stickied.
