Hi everyone, what is the cheapest way to get celebrity-white teeth? i was wondering if there was an inexpensive way to get it done well. i work w/ the people at snip and one of the girls at work tried the new snip whitening trays. she said they worked really well and they got whiter in about three days. What are you experiences w/ teeth whitening? Thanks!

Bleaching works but it weakens the enamel, so they will get yellower after the effect wears off. Xylitol purportedly whitens teeth very slowly if used in a rinse or in chewing gum.

Why, yes, but usually only minimally and I have not seen evidence (for or against) suggesting that it a. damages the teeth in the long term or b. they get yellow quicker (and that a & b. are clinically relevant).

Your teeth will re-enamalize if you eat a diet high in phosphorus and avoid using glycerine based tooth paste as you cannot get the residue off easily.
Residue makes the re-enamalization process impossible.
Best thing to brush with is non-glycerine base bar-soap and baking soda.

Whitening teeth by any process I am familiar with is not natural, nor is it good for you.
Make your body renew itself and don't add things that impede the process.

This worked for me, I don't say it works for anybody, I stopped to drink black tea(I never liked coffee, so not drinking that may be of importance), and I began to drink a lot of green tea and my teeth became whiter...so if you drinking black tea you can try it...might help at least a bit...Maybe I should add that I began using an organic tooth paste maybe around the same time

This.

Teeth whiteners do quite some work on the minerals in your enamel. I have small amount composite material bound to my chipped tooth and guess what, my teeth whitener weakened the bonds of the materials so fast it didn't take but one time.

Here is a way to both re-enamelize teeth (unless it's really major as in crumbling away of enamel with brittle teeth), and if you use for long enough it will whiten them as well. See my post here for the info: http://www.imminst.o...mp;#entry399278

For me the gel and laser teeth whitening treatment were definitely the best teeth whitening products I could find. I smiled all the way home and in fact I haven’t stopped smiling since, and why not? I now have a bright new smile and I want everyone to see it.

H2O2! and baking soda + sea salt, cheap as hell. As long as you use this regularly
and also floss and make sure you keep overall diet+dental hygiene alright. Also bear
in mind that teeth are not that white naturally anyway..

Hydrogen peroxide also can limit gingivitis. But if you use it, be patient and always use low concentrations of it, letting it work overtime. Strong concentration may damage soft tissue if used frequently. I use to brush with baking soda but quit because it irritated my gums. Again though, no get in a hurry and begin scrubbing your teeth like mad. You can damage your enamel.

I had never heard of using sea salt for whitening. I use sea salt rinses for the occasional irritate throat and for sinus irrigation. Thanks for the tip.

are people confusing "Sea salt" for sodium hypoclorite?

Not something i'd personally want to experiment with, but its much more effective than peroxide bleech on clothes, so i'm sort of curious...

Brushing your teeth with sea salt, similar to brushing with baking soda, is said to whiten teeth. Here are many other potential remedies:

Do not try brushing you teeth with bleach! There are many effective and safe ways of keeping teeth white, it just takes more time. Trying to rush it by using stronger oxidizers or abrasive compounds will only cause damage.

Whitening toothpaste might be an opion. I haven't had much luck with it but it worked for my mother :/
I'd be interested to know if anyone else has had any experience with whitening toothpaste. I use BlanX, some people swear by it but others have had no luck.

I was hoping to see some form of method of getting it done quickly. Looks like its gel and lasers... How much does that cost?
