Hello,

I am 20 years old and am returning to University to do a science degree. The supplements that I have purchased (still being delivered) are Piracetam, Huperzine A, and Pyritinol.

A degree program at University requires attending lectures, studying, and writing tests/exams.

I plan to take Relentless Imrovements Piracetam (800mg x 2) every day, Cognitive Nutrition Huperzine A (100mcg) daily starting 5 days before a test, Cognitive Nutrition Huperzine A (100mcg) daily starting 3-4 weeks before exams, and Pyritinol (200-400mg) before every lecture.

Do you think that I am using these supplements properly/efficiently? Do you recommend that I tweak anything?

Also, regarding Huperzine A, if I want to use it to remember the information, say in a lecture, do I need to take it before the lecture (so that it will be in my system during the lecture) or do I just take it prior to writing a test on that material to help me remember what was taught in that class? I hope you understand what I mean.

Thanks

It sounds good, though I'm a little confused about your plan for the Hup A. So you're going to start taking 100mcg 3-4 weeks before exams and then bump it up to 200mcg for 5 days before tests? Is that right? Either way, you might want to consider adding a choline source to go with your piracetam during days when you're not taking hup A. Then you can scale it down or cut it out when you add the Huperzine. Something like CDP-choline or Alpha-GPC.

What I ment was that I would take 100mcg of Hup A daily 5 days before a test (say a midterm test), and I would also take 100mcg daily 3-4 weeks before an exam (final semester test). Why is it that I do not need a choline source if I will be taking Hup A?

The goal when taking choline is to up your acetylcholine production. Huperzine A is an Acetocholinesterase inhibitor. So it increases Acetylcholine at the neuronal junction by slowing down it's degradation. So Hup A and a choline product such as Alpha-GPC or CDP choline are accomplishing the same goal. And in fact if you take choline while taking Hup A, you can increase the chances of overdosing on choline, which isn't really dangerous so much as it is uncomfortable and counterproductive.
