When I was younger my lips were really dark red. I remember I used to get teased and called "lipstick" etc when I was younger. I forgot all about this until I saw a childhood picture just recently and it struck me how dark my lips really were. They're pink now, and they faded so i never thought about it. I didn't have Kawasaki Illness. So, what was my body telling me with the lips that dark?

Peutz–Jegher syndrome is one of the only things I'm aware of that affects the lips like that but it usually has more of a speckled appearance:
