I want to put up some flyer's, but they would have to be professionally made and look professional.

Is there any official brochures currently made so we can hand them out to people?

Well aren't you a person working on the art team? What are you doing to help out?

For the people who are working on the art team could someone please answer my question? We need to start posting flyer's on walls around suitable places around the world as soon as possible to get our message out. The flyer's don't have to be perfect and we could start sending out prototypes right away, then in the meantime you could all work on perfecting them.

Ideally we need very professional looking flyer's/posters to send out. We need more than just home brewed flyer's printed out from someones printer, we need flyer's that look very professional (ones with a very good choice of colour, layout, words, pictures, and they will have to be glossy and laminated.)

Remember even if the flyer's are not finished completely, there will always be people that no matter how the information is presented, they will not be deterred if it doesn't look pretty and perfect and they will join our cause.

We need more than just flyer's, we need brochures to sit on a stand in a library or something, In my local library I see a stand with a lot of brochures in it and that's how I found out allot of detailed information about Veganism.

Has anyone found a business that could produce professional looking flyer's/brochures/posters that we could buy in bulk for a relatively cheap price? We could then distribute them to volunteers who will put them up at suitable places around where they live.
For the flyer's will we just advertise Imminst, or will we advertise for Methuselah and SENS as well? As I understand it The Imminst is just an organization promoting these types of organizations.


I just needed to ask all these questions, I'm not working on this because I don't have that much art/graphic design skills, but for those that do have the skills that are working on this we need to move quickly.
Also I would like to work on the art team. I don't have that many skills but I'm just bursting full of great ideas.

CaptainBeefHeart and I, and a few others, are developing a Chapters set up right now. It was designed to kill two birds with one stone, launch a chapters arrangement, and create a system for distributing flyers through a team. What we are also going to do for this Chapters project is go through the art team and collect the best flyers and posters and arrange them in to packages for chapter volunteers to download. The flyers will all have something like, "find your local chapter at imminst.org/chapters" on them. Some flyers may still need to be made at that time. We have a variety of them now, but some will need to be brushed up and some will need to be created.

People can print them from their home computers, but we will encourage people to go down to their local printing shops and have them printed up in good glossy color copies. People will also have the ability to make fund requests for such things.

If your interested, you could go through the topics, the topics that go over particular flyers, the art team member topics, and find all the good flyers and line them up so they are ready for us to go through to form packages when the time comes. You could also make suggestions for flyers and list them as the others there are, starting with "suggestion:" in the topic.

Ok so it will be up to each individual member to make there own glossy copies, why can't we buy them through the Imminst store? It would be better that way because then some of the money we pay for the copies will go to Imminst.

Why don't we create flyers for SENS and Methuselah Foundation also?

Brokenportal you seem to be a champion of this community, you seem to be working very hard to generate progress. Could I add you on Skype/facebook/MSN to discuss ideas with you? Do you know any other "Champions" of this community that are also working very hard to generate progress?

How will we stop "rogue marketing"? Will there be an aproval proccess to go through before we put up flyers/poster/brochures anywhere?

CaptainBeefHeart and I initiated it. He didnt take the ball and run with it like I had hoped, so Ive been putting in most of the initiative. Thats alright though, because its always great to have more volunteers on board in any capacity. So right now, Im in the process of getting some additions added in to some of the translations for Chapters with other main languages. Once that happens, me and beefheart, and whoever else is interested will meet and go over what the imminst.org/chapters page should look like. It might be really simple, there might be more too it, I havent even thought enough about it yet because Im waiting on other parts of it to develop. It will get there though.

A key to this is that we are only a small group of people right now working on things. Every time we have a success, every time additional people volunteer, it helps to inspire more, so a major part of these projects is that we are hoping it is going to help facilite and give opportunities and inspiration and places to latch on to for more aspiring volunteers, and that is priceless, that is what is taking us to the next levels.

Right, each person can make them on their own. However, if somebody is interested, like you, you could try to work out a bulk system. Maybe you could find a place that would accept x many dollars, to print off and store x many copies that members could order from at a discount price. I dont know how that would work. We still need a volunteer like you or somebody to look in to it. It would then be proposed in the project ideas section. We might vote it in, we might find that we would rather wait until a few rounds of flyers were tested first, and then try it.

We have before. They have hired professionals now. We dont have the money for that at this time. However, these initial projects will help get us to the point where we will be able to hire more and more people. We started our first paid position last year, and this year we are looking to add a paid accountant, secretary, and lead engineer.

Yes, please do add me in skype. We are trying to collect as many of us dedicated indefinite life extensionists as we can in there. We meet a lot, talk about projects, etc...

The final chapters flyer packages will go through approval by the chapters team leaders, and anybody else that wants to sit in on the process. The board over sees the whole thing and can over ride approvals, and can vote things in or out.

Well if CaptainBeefHeart isn't doing his job properly then can I replace him? Another idea I had was to have chapter coordinators for each region, I could be the chapters coordinator of Australia and Beefheart can be the coordinator of wherever he lives.

I love your creativity and ideas, but I would say we can only use these for very obscure markets and not use them in like, pin ups on bulletin boards. I dont want to discourage you though. I want to see more like this, but for less official purposes. These can find a market. Its not the idea per say thats not ideal, I know what your getting at here and I think its brilliant, it would still though only be a maybe for wider things even if it had a more meticulously detailed packaging.
