And now a discussion about Star Trek and, mainly, the ethical decisions of the star fleet captains.

What do you think who was the best Star-Trek Captain since the begining of the franchise?
Who made the best decisions?

-James Tiberius Kirk
-Jean Luc Picard
-Benjamin Sisco
-Kathryn Janeway
-Jonathan Archer

My list of best captains (From 1 = Best to 5 worst)

1 James Tiberius Kirk - Captain Kirk had it all: bus loads of beautiful women, Fistfights, charismatic enemies and Tribbles
2 Benjamin Sisco - Was some sort of Deity, fought the dominion, the Klingons had an awesome ship and made a good decision shaveing his had and growing a beard to look more like Mr. Clean which is not that bad.
3 Jean Luc Picard - Was not that bad but used to interpret the prime directive very narrow, thank Roddenberry, there were enough characters to do something against that.
4 Kathryn Janeway - They got lost in the delta-quadrant and spent 7 Seasons there* (dont let women drive :-D ) and many of the captains decisions were very questionable and may have done more harm than good.
5 Jonathan Archer - Made much more questionable decisions and tortured and plundered, but at least he had a dog.

If we're talking ethics, I'd say Jean Luc Picard followed by James T Kirk.

But best? Jonathan Archer. Founder and president of the Federation. Most importantly, Jolene Blalock was on his Enterprise.

It is a long time ago when I saw the different star trek series, but the first one in my mind was: Jean Luc Picard

QAPLA ! :)

If it's only Starfleet I'd choose James T Kirk.

Picard was the most morally evolved in my opinion. Jonathan archer was horrible. He reminded me of George Bush. Kirk and sisko had their moments of inspiration and Janeway perhaps pushed the boundaries the most.
