Do the ingredients found inside a ECA stack and/or other "thermogenic" fat burning supplements shorten the human lifespan?
I'm especially curious about caffeine since that is present in pretty much every fat burning supplement for it's thermogenic effect.

All the stuff inside these supplements makes your heart go faster which is by some said to be bad.
But exercise raises your heartbeat as well and they say excersize increases your lifespan.
So what's the deal? Do coffee etc shorten your life and Cardio exercises increases it? Or do exercise AND supplements both shorten life?

I use a ECA stack that has:
25 mg Sida Cordifolia (leaf) (6% ephedrine alkaloid)
200 mg caffeine anhydrous(USP)
150 mg White Willow (bark)

I think it's a different mechanism for when you exercise, because there's no external stimulant wrecking your nervous system. Stimulants utilize the "reserves" your body has at the expense of being burned out later. Healthy exercise releases testosterone, which is natural to the body, so I'd trust that over a foreign substance.

Also with exercise it's easier to get proper rest - when you do stimulants you're not really concerned about that because another dose gets you right back to being energetic...you're not going to exercise more if you're full of lactic acid and can barely move :))

I'd say some forms of exercise definitely shorten lifespan too though. Pro athletes come to mind here, their regimens are brutal.

There are "fast metabolizers" and "slow metabolizers" of caffeine. If you are in the slow category, caffeine is purportedly "bad" for your heart. I don't know how bad "bad" is. If you search medline or google, you can probably find a paper on it. A better option to lose weight might be to reduce sugars and increase healthy fats in your diet.
