Thanks for asking this question. I had not heard about the Tricorder shown in ST before I accidentally came through an article here while searching for Regenerative Medicine.

I have a question I would like to ask you and the community who are updated on technology. I came through an interesting interview by Col. Phil J. Corso. He claims he worked at Foreign Technologies Department working on reverse engineering foreign technologies. What was not written was that it included not only foreign technologies of this world but included foreign technologies from "other worlds"

In the interview he talks about a device that are capable of being used in surgery. The device is based on electromagnetism and with a laser capable of cutting through tissue without creating scars because it doesn't cut through cells, the cells are "pushed beside" when the device is near the tissue.
