Long time ago ive heard that the soviet union had the pentagon under surveillance through their Spy-Satellites, and that they have found a small building in the centre of the inner "Garden"-Space which was heavily visited by many people every day, they thought that this was the entrance to a subterran shelter, so they programed two ICBMs with this target.
After the cold war they found out that this building actually was a cantina.
Ive searched the internet and used google earth (yes there is a building in the centre but there are no informations about it) didnt found anything about that, is someone here who knows more about that?
