So i've been reading alot about the Dermaroller and the folks over at acne.org and essentialdayspa seem to love it, and i wondered if anybody here has any experience with this lovely device? People use the shorter needles (0.2 - 0.5mm) for better skin-products penetration and the longer ones (1mm - 3mm) for Collagen-stimulation, Acne-scars, even for Hair-growth.
Could this really be an effective cheap alternative to laser-procedures, ect.?

Here's some studies i could find:

Science Direct
JCAS
Bioscience.org

There's also a bunch of blogs if you google dermaroller and people seem to be having succes with all kinds of problems, from wrinkles to acne-scars and stretchmarks to just tightening up the skin, so what do you guys think, is it worth the lil 40$ investment, even if just to maintain good collagen-production?
Vanity, oh vanity.

It's better than some of the very invasive laser procedures that probably never should have been approved by the FDA.

I've been reading up on this stuff and have decided to try a dermarolling session or two on my inner biceps/upper chest area just cause it's so cheap and am not worried about how my, already overstretched, skin will look with a few needle marks for a few days ...

yea, i'm gonna try it too, just got the 1.5mm Dr. Roller and some EMLA-numbing-cream, will probably do some collagen-stimulation-sessions every 6 weeks, first on my arms and if it works i might try my cheeks (face, lol) and crow's feet.
I only have a little sun-damage but maybe this will help me fix some and prevent it from getting worse.

I'm derma rolling the same stretch mark every other day; must say that the skin is looking 'newer'/more rejuvenated. I'm using a .5mm roller, a 1mm roller is on the way. I think this has potential. Will continue to use for a few months.

i did my first intense session about a week ago on my neck and arms, even started bleeding a bit and right now it seems to look worse than before as far as skin-quality goes, but i guess it's way too early to tell. i plan to follow up in about 3- 4 weeks and also might look into getting the 0.5 just for product-penetration. i wonder if it would interfere with collagen-production though.
hmmm.

I switched to a 1mm dermaroller about 5-6 sessions ago, I roll every other day. It is very painful. My stretchmark is looking better I think, and I say that because that area is very dark and red from the rolling. I do feel that the individual vertical skin tears are shrinking but I can't be sure. I hope it's working because it is quite painful.

Be careful with this site. Is all I'm going to say.

BTW, if you're interested in the effect of derma rollers on stretch marks, you can visit my personal blog
at http://homedermaroller.blogspot.com. I documented my progress in the 5 months I've been using one, with slow but relatively good results!

Don't think anyone has anything to worry about buying from there. Her products/recommendations seem to be used by a lot of people with no quality issues from what Ive seen.

I had bad experience just with their derma rollers. In my opinion they were very low quality (+ I got the wrong size - needles were longer than stated). They refunded me eventually. Their other products were fine.

Dermarolling my stretch mark was ineffective.

I'm trying again but this time I'm going to use taz, retinA .05 and retinA .1

Just wondering if any body knows anything about if there's a limit to the regenerative capacity of CIT (collagen induction therapy)

Like if the Hayflick limit or stem cell depletion will eventually effect things?

There's a bit of negative stuff on the net..

Thanks
