I'm about ready to make milkshakes with this stuff or something. It is now two weeks since I complained and I have not heard a peep from herbal com. I'm quite sure I received a pound of cocoa powder by mistake.

Did anyone else who ordered from them check their product? What exactly does Bacopa monnieri really taste like?

It has a yucky-tasting, powdered green weed taste. There's nothing cocoa-like about it in appearance, odor, or taste. Dispute the charge with your credit card company if you must.
Try ordering from http://www.beyond-a-century.com next time.

Was this stuff not labeled?

They ship their stuff in little plastic bags looking strikingly like trash bag liners with stick on labels.

ej-

The bacopa I received from herbalcom was cocoa-like too. I can't say for sure that it's cocoa, but it's close. The other 8 herbs I received from them seem fine. I can't say definitively that it's not bacopa - at least not yet.

Peace be with you,

Well the gig was up when I inadvertantly put a large spoonful of the alleged "bacopa" in my mouth. I was on the road and had decided to just wash down a large spoonful no matter how bad it tasted. It melted down immediately into a sweet tasting mush. One would not expect ground herbs to dissolve like that.

So we have two direct witness accounts of a choclaty substance totally lacking the reported characteristics of the purchased substance. This has been determined by many online descriptions, and also by a source in this forum who is known to be reliable, has a sound basis for his information, and corroborates the general descriptions found online. Sounds like that meets the Gates "totality of the circumstances" test for PC, huh Zen counselor?

I've got a crimpro exam tomorrow and I've gotten myself fairly dazed and brainwashed right now.

Out of all fairness, I'm enjoying the powdered ashwagandha I got from herbcom.com. It quickly brews into a potent tea for my evening "knock out" punch. I've been sleeping really well recently and waking up refreshed. General health seems better, despite stress and poor eating habits.

Good luck on your exam, ej! I hope you do well.

On my test today I am reasonably sure that I scored 100% This is a good feeling. While I will not attribute my academic success to any particular medicine, I must say that whatever I have been doing works well; without doubt. So although some of you may think it is "crazy" to take like 20+ supplements daily, I think it is perfectly rational considering the safety of the substances of ingestion (that sounds cool too, eh?). I mean it does feel a bit awkward to be taking so many pills all the time, but it is perfectly rational to attempt to counteract some of the negative substances we involentarily ingest.

I just finished watching the movie "The Corporation." I highly recommend this to all of you. It is an excellent movie.

Take care,

Adam :)
