So reading text on a computer screen 16-20 hours a day is starting to take its toll - my eyes feel like they're about to jump out of their sockets and crawl under the bed!

The acuity of my vision hasn't changed much, but my eyes are tired all the time and I'm seeing a lot more floaters than before, which is getting distracting when I'm reading. I also often find myself squinting or completely closing one eye - usually the left one, which is weaker, but sometimes alternately.

I've been trying to reduce the brightness of my monitors (especially at night), take more time away from the screen (i.e. listening to audio-books), eat right, use larger fonts (ex), etc... but it doesn't seem to be enough anymore...

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I'm afraid I don't have any advice, but my vision has been deteriorating for the last 4 months. I'm losing long-distance acuity. It's worst indoors, and about half as bad outdoors.
I think it's because of the years of staring at a screen, since it's worst when I look at the CRT TV in the lounge - I can barely read anything on it. I also have a hunch my sleeping pattern has influenced the problem too...
I suggest visiting an optician as that's what I'm going to do once I'm convinced that I can't solve the problem myself.

Have you tried Lutein? Anecdotal I know but 18mg a day has helped me withy eye strain from using computers all day.

All advice greatly appreciated. I'm looking into some of those things now.

It has gotten better just from better nutrition and reduced computer time over the past few days, but this is something I should continue to take very seriously - my eyes are probably my most valuable organs (after the brain of course). :-D
