OK, Ill get right to it:
What am I doing wrong?
For 3 years, I have been unable to find either an online or downloadable OCR software that works at all.
1- Google OCR keeps telling me that I have uploaded an invalid file though the images I upload are completely within the acceptable parameters.
2- Microsoft Office Document Imaging won't install correctly, so it doesnt work at all.
3- I purchased and downloaded Omnipage OCR software, but it never worked correctly and harmfully altered the configurations on my previous computer, so I just ended up deleting it and am hesitant to redownload it on my new laptop.
4- The free online OCR downloads are too full of adware and spyware and slow computer down and have all sorts of limitations and generally just suck
I haven't focused on it relentlessly for the past 3 years, but whenever I have to hand type a large image of text, I dabble in finding OCR software, only to end in disappointment every time. Does anyone here have an OCR program that they have had no problems with and that works fine, or does anyone know of an online OCR with no problems?
I usually am very hesistant to look for OCR when faced with a large text image type-up cause what usually happens is I look all over for hours and nothing ever works and nothing gets done and the end result is Ive lost 2-3 hours and made no progress, so most of the time, I just start typing cause at least the task will get done that way, and said typing is part of a much larger document analysis, so OCR would be sooooo frikkkkin awesome, I cannot even emphasize it enuff.
But, it seems like there is no way out of this quandary. It seems hopeless. Like Ill never ever ever find a reliable and useful OCR program.
