SWIM has been reading quite a lot about nicotine patches...and since a lot of the people said they are getting very nice and mild euphoric effects with nicotine, I have to assume that these people are non smokers, like SWIM.
SWIM went and got the expensive nicoderm patches, 21 mg. Cut it in half for the first test, put it on, and then 1 hour later, SWIM had extreme vertigo and felt VERY nauseous! Pulled it off and became back to normal after 2 hours.
The next day, SWIM decided half was too much, and went with 1/4. While no nausea, SWIM had a little vertigo and there is no way he could go on the whole day with this. It was definitely not enhancing any focus or mood.
Next day, SWIM tried 1/8, which feels so tiny. Anyways, at this does, SWIM got no vertigo, no nausea, but a BIT more focus than usual. Which is good, and SWIM kept it the whole day.
SWIM is very dissapointed with nicotine after all the reading. He was expecting much more, but any higher doses makes SWIM nauseous and NON nootropic like. Where is the euphoria or enegy and antianxiety effects?
Any advice??

Dude nicotine patches are legal! Admit it SWIM is you!!! :~

1. Make sure that by cutting it you did not ruin the time-release aspect of the patch

2. Have you ever smoked cigarettes? As in at all not necessarily addicted. I guess if this is your first exposure ever to nicotine then your body could have such a strong reaction

3. I had no such experiences when I played around with patches however I have smoked probably a few dozen cigarettes in my life... I didn't experiment for very long but didn't feel like I was getting much from it so stopped. Also I started playing around with some nootropics so didn't want anything clouding my assessment of them.

I usually take something like 1/8-1/6 of a 21mg patch (non-smoker). More than this and it starts to become sedating, so more is not better in this case. Half a patch is a huge dose for someone who doesn't smoke or hasn't used patches every day for a couple of months.

I never found it to enhance focus to a noticeable extent. Just because a study shows that it enhances reaction time/etc doesn't mean it will be apparent to us in a non-test situation. I used to take nicotine for the enhanced dopamine release—warmer mood, more motivation, less social anxiety, relaxation. The effect is still somewhat subtle, though. Several of the people here who reported better focus have ADD (as do I), for whom "focus" probably means something different than it does to normals :~

My advice: this isn't a meth forum, you don't need to displace your identity. In this case, your reaction is either different than people whose experiences you read, or you were expecting far too much. Decide if it's something you can use to enhance your consciousness in certain situations.
