I posted about my one jar falling on the floor and having to scoop it back up...I haven't tried it yet-worried about the germs.
Anyone know of what would happen if I "boiled" it-dumped the solution into a boiling pot of water until the water evaporated?
That is the only way I can think of in terms of killing all of the germs..

You should also wash it with dish soap, it helps eliminate 99% of the germs /sarcasm

If it's that much of a concern throw it out and buy a new batch. It's pretty cheap.

Yeh man I think you realistically got two options: deal with the germs (I doubt it would be a problem; how dirty is your carpet!?) or just bin it!

You could dump it in alcohol and let the alcohol evaporate away. That should disinfect it.

This thread can't be serious. If your immune system can't fight off whatever bacteria your piracetam might have come in contact to on your floor, you have bigger problems than disinfecting piracetam you should be focusing your attention on...

rwac's is probably the best solution. I don't know what piracetam's solubilities are, but you could try dissolving it in either 70% or 99% isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol. Filter it using a bunch of doubled-up coffee filters, or some cotton balls stuffed into a funnel, to remove anything that isn't soluble (i.e. dirt).

Ideally, let it evaporate on its own. I think rubbing alcohol evaps pretty fast. Heating it could cause some kind of breakdown of the molecules, maybe even to something unhealthy. And heating alcohol on an open flame is a great way to start an uncontrolled fire, if you ever need to do that.

No my floor is clean-I just have read where the 5 second rule is not even good anymore-so many bacteria attach to the food in a split second. It was on the floor for about a minute-I got a spoon and spooned it back up into the bin.
I will get some alcohol and try that tomorrow..this is a somewhat serious thread-I hate to waste an entire 500 gram bin of it if I can salvage in some way-even if it loses some of it's effectiveness (even 50%) in the process, it still would be worth it;.

ha ha, bit extreme boiling it. i'm sure it will be ok unless the floor was soaked with some poisonous chemical. I always drop food on the floor and pick it up and eat it, never had a problem from it.

Umm, we have immune systems for a reason. If you want to kill bacteria, you could always dunk it in a warm bath of strong acid and proteolytic enzymes. Like your stomach... Have you ever watched what dogs put in their mouths? Or small kids? Just use it. The immune system likes a challenge, which this would scarcely be.
