Just wondering-I am trying to shed a few pounds I have gained because of a medication I have been taking-anyone have any success with ALCAR?
How much did you take?

I've taken ALCAR up to 1,500 mg daily and it did not help for fat loss. Then I bought a pair of really
comfy walking shoes and started doing 2 miles twice per day and the weight dropped pretty quickly.

I take a gram a day. I think it helped me lose fat in that it raised my capacity for endurance exercise. I wouldn't expect it to cause the pounds to melt away just because you take it, though; I think it will make exercise more likely to be effective. It's a reasonable thing to take. You might want to try some green tea extract. I find 600 mg GTE to do all manner of good; appetite suppression and subtle mood boost that seems to manifest as having more motivation, in my case.

I have some excess weight I need to lose, and difficulty doing it because of a back injury that prevents any meaningful amount of exercise. I've taken 2g ALCAR a day for about 6 months. I haven't managed to lose any weight during that time, until making some drastic changes to my diet (which was already fairly healthy). So anecdotally, not for me.

Some discussion in this M&M thread. There seem to be a few studies showing some potential, but many more showing none.
