No, but that doesn't equal a reason to try it.

Why wouldn't it increase absorption and bio-availability by circumventing first-pass effect?

Vaginal delivery would also do that, and more efficiently, if one is so equipped.

It is not established that mucosal delivery gets a sufficient amount into the blood to make much of a difference. The anecdotal reports of superior effects with bucal or sublingual delivery could be placebo, I don't know of actual blood serum studies comparing bucal or sublingual blood serum levels to those obtained by swallowing a capsule, and some recent papers have shown that resveratrol metabolites are bio-active, and some portion of them convert back to resveratrol at some point..... Bypassing first pass metabolism may not be that important, except perhaps with low doses, under 200 mg perhaps. Ass far as suppositories go, all I can say is try it if you want and report back. It might work well for you. However, those taking resveratrol by more conventional means have in many cases reported positive effects.

My wife finds it inconvenient to take a powder instead of a capsule. I can only wonder at her reaction if I suggested a suppository was superior.... "Here, honey, take this and shove it up your ...."

I'm not sure about that. Why would one be different than the other in that way?

Edit: But thanks for the rest of your post, I found it most informative

Plugging supplements is a waste. IMO regular oral use will facilitate greater absorbtion throughout the bodys organs, this is desirable. I want this molecule to be in all my organs. Plugging is more efficient for psychotropic drugs not supplements.

Not sure about that, but I thank you for the opinion.

In retrospect, Resveratrols anti-inflammatory actions may be usefull in treating piles. Has anyone with piles used this that way with results?
