While many Transhumanists are genuinely concerned with the potential disasters that lay ahead with these emrging technologies, how many have been focused on the system of power currently ushering them in?
The big picture here is we're already faced with a hegemonic, corrupt, manipulative, dystopian, tyrannical control freak system. It's almost impossible to read one article and get the full picture... until now.
The system we're all up against, no matter your view on emerging technologies, has been hard at work for years spending trillions of dollars building a control freak nightmare, while plundering the masses to prevent virtually everyone from having a shot at participating if they so wish.
This old system of power is orchestrating a full blown AGI Manhattan Project, to usher in these technologies as fast as possible. What transhumanist couldn't agree that we must exercise caution and reserve to ensure we do it right, to prevent a number of different nightmare scenarios.
The question of 'should we do it' has been focused on the technology itself for far too long. The focus should be on the system that has been around a lot longer than most anyone who reads this, and what can we do to not be enslaved by these technologies that so many want, and so many fear. The answer is yes, we can overcome, but only if both sides come to an agreement on the true threat, and in collaboration to expose and make this world a place that can handle these looming advances. Currently society has no say in what to do with these technologies, or who is in control. Things in the world ARE under control, and that control doesn't lie in the hands of the people around the world who believe they are in 'democracies'.
So a new site has appeared that paints the picture of the economic war already being waged against us all, to prevent us from living prosperous lives, and participating should we choose. It proves the existence of the AGI Manhattan Project, and the system of despotic control being built around it. It displays a massive case demonstrating the economic and neurological warfare being waged against us. The system of control being built defies all reason for what it's claimed to be for, and measure after measure of legislation and agenda being pursued further deteriorates what's left of our dwindling freedoms, and each represents the final nail in the economic coffin.
The writing is on the wall. Economic collapse and totalitarianism is inevitable following the current path. To ignore these realities, and to especially push forward in the technological agenda, may leave the blood we face on your hands. Will you set aside your biases, and trivial idealism, to face this monster of a system before it's too late? The choice is yours, but if you're wrong, and don't research this problem and try to do something about it, odds are you won't be in the big club when the visions of technological utopia become a worst case scenario dystopia.
