I bought a bunch of stuff from Swanson and it looks good, tastes as to be expected, but I was wondering if there are any insiders who know the top quality powdered greens/fruits products out there?

I know this was discussed before, but since then there are literally tons more products to choose from and I get very overwhelmed.

I've researched the best Green powder to buy, and I've stuck with "Greens n Berries" from AOR. I personally chose it because it's the only wheat/gluten free green powder I found available, and it also has some of the best ingredients that I found

Apple Juice Powder 750mg Barley Grass Juice Powder 750mg Bilbery Fruit Powder 750mg Black Raspberry Powder 750mg Beet Juice Powder 2250mg Broccoli Powder 750mg Cabbage Powder 750mg Carrot Juice Powder 750mg Celery Juice Powder 750mg Cranberry Juice Powder 750mg Kale Juice Powder 750mg Jujube Fruit Powder 750mg Parsley Juice Powder 375mg Pomegranate Powder 375mg Spinach Juice Powder 1350mg Strawberry Juice Powder 375mg Tomato Juice Powder 375mg Wolfberry Fruit Powder 750mg Noni Powder 750mg

What about Swanson they have a lot of powders with everything you'd want in them. Anything NOT good about them?

Just looked into that. That looks like an amazing product as well. I think I'll give it a try and see how it compares to the AOR powder I've been using.

If cost is an object vs fresh fruit, then NSI's Berrytastic has all juice of vegetables and no added fillers (does rice bran soluble extract qualify if its labeled as a protein?) or herbal stimulants. It's very "clean" for the low price.

Also, check out Green Drink Reviews at http://www.sensablehealth.com/wp/

I was just about to make a thread similar to this.

My questions were going to be:

1) are these things legit? I've heard getting vitamins from pills isn't the same as getting them from fruits and veggies (source), so I wonder if those freeze dried greens mixes are actually the same as getting them from fruits and veggies.

2) how many fruits and veggies are they equivalent to? You see like "500mg broccoli powder" or whatever. Ok, how much broccoli is that equivalent to?

I don't think you can equate powders with actual fruits and vegetables in any scientific way. If the extraction and standardization process is done well, some of the vitamins, minerals and polyphenols will remain intact.
Fresh produce contains enzymes and fiber that freeze dried powders won't.
Some practitioners recommend green mixes as an alkalizing agent.
Personally I take four capsules of Barleans Greens daily to augment my diet, but not to replace any part of it. It has a concentration from the juiced ingredients of 1500%

I'd want to know a direct conversion. I mean, sure it says there's 750mg of broccoli in there, but what if that's only equivalent to like one piece of broccoli. That's hardly worth paying for. If it's like a couple tomatoes, a banana, an orange, a bunch of spinach, some pineapple and like 10 strawberries, then yeah that would be cool.

But otherwise it might not even be worth it.

Isn't that half the reason to eat them?

What is an alkalizing agent and what does it do?

I've been taking this Vitamineral V5 by healthforce for a week. I feel great but I generally feel good most of the time save for 2-230pm. So this isn't another positive amazon review, but I do sense that it [maybe] has in a way detoxed me. I do wonder whether it's worth the $60 however since its effects on me are so far hardly marginal and it goes really really fast.

I was feeling ok on Optical Nutrition Men's multis before (urine always dark yellow suggesting a lot was going nowhere?) but am now concerned about their indiscriminate mega-dosing particularly as it concerns the B6 concentration.

Does anyone have information on validity of healthforce claims insofar as Vitamineral v5 is concerned? Could it substitute a regular multivitamin, holding the budget issue constant?
