After reading these forums, and doing other research, I read conflicting reports.

So which is better for brain function, fish oil that has more EPA or DHA?

Indeed, the EPA/DHA ratio question is hard to answer definitively. Most of the neurologically-relevant papers I've come across are on EPA, but I haven't done a thorough review. Would be nice to collect the evidence, so we can make a more informed decision about which omega 3 we want.

NKO - Neptune Krill Oil check it out.

It is being branded by diff supplement company but if it says NKO it came from the same manufacturer.

there are no studies to support krill oil's effects cognitively. there are a lot of claims about its supposed enhanced bioavailability, but i have yet to see a source for any of that. plus, majority of the studies that most krill oil vendors refer to were the ones done on the omega 3 in fish oil. and aside from omega 3, as far as i'm aware, the only thing that KO contains aside from standard fish oil is some sort of vitamin A.

to OP: studies on the EPA/DHA are pretty mixed. in the case of ADHD, however, the results drastically favor a high EPA:DHA ratio. but theoretically, DHA seems like it would provide the the cognitive enhancement. it's a toss-up really. personally, i take in 800/400mg of each, respectively. when i find myself with some extra money i run a high DHA cycle along with it (adding 300/1500mg of each, respectively). it's probably an excessive amount of omega 3, but i've learned how to combat the blood thinning issue of it by now.
