Im thinking on taking selegiline 5mg or 10mg a day in tablet form. Whats the situation with dietary restriction. Ive read that many imminst users take selegiline but fail to mention much on dietary restriction. Though when reading the drug information it warms of a list of foods that shouldnt be consumed with selegiline.

When on selegiline do you change your diet, reduce your intake of tyramine?

My problem is that I have a high protein diet, and usually have a protein shake most days.

Like Animal says, on doses less than 10 mg it shouldn't be much of problem with a normal diet but to elaborate somewhat:

I knowingly broke against the dietary restrictions at about 5 mg/daily by eating a lot of almonds and raisins sometimes. I _might_ have noticed it (debateable - read my "Low dose Deprenyl" thread for my experience) but I never felt it was dangerous. You should still monitor how your body reacts to food that might be questionable and it is paramount to be aware of the risks involved no matter what you take. This becomes a much bigger problem on MAO A inhibiting doses (over 10 mg) although I suspect that the threshold might be a little more gradual than that.
