Is the fluoride content in green tea anything I should be concerned about?

No. First you have to cronometer your diet and do some math: diet/green tea + tooth hygiene + fluoride in the water supply should be < UL for fluoride. You gotta know all the variables.

wrong, actually it is a concern - same as is fluoride in water supply and toothpaste. Fluoride is a poison.
That's why I don't by toothpaste with fluoride and I drink only spring water or distilled one.

There is this inside joke known as "[citation needed]", though, of course the meaning should be obvious to anyone: We value scientific evidence in this forum and the party that makes extraordinary claims - just any claims that go against consensus - is the one that should make their case.

(to read about the consensus start e.g. here http://lpi.oregonsta...erals/fluoride/)

What are the side effects of fluoride poisoning - would it be a gradual thing wherby later in life you'd develop issues that might not be attributed to fluoride (i.e, deterioration of mental state).

I drink tap water every day, also 5 cups of white tea plus I use toothpaste. I suppose my consumption could be on the high side but how would I know this for sure? I had a chat with the dentist and they said to me the levels in everything we eat/drink is so tiny it's not likely to have any effects, but hey I'd be stupid to trust the word of a dentist.
I have been thinking of switching to distilled water myself recently. Maybe I'll do this.

I really don't have time for explaining the well known facts but listen to this dentist for start,
then read what prisoners were given in gulaqs and nazis camps to make them dumb for easy control.

then learn what fluoride do chemically in your body, then we can talk.

BTW, i thought joining this forum (coming from curezone) that some basic facts are known already

Editing this last post as I was pissed off this morning and what I wrote was due to a bad reaction.
I'm still not happy about your reply above though. So now I'll attempt to ram it home to you in a more polite way (more my style).

First and foremost you are not above me in any way. Let's be very clear about that. You should be kissing my ass not the other way around. You've been here 5 minutes. Your link was crap, there are people here who evidently know more than what you do (yeah i'm judging you, but to be fair it's what you deserve following your degrading response). It would have taken you far less effort to actually answer the question properly so clearly you are punching above your weight. You didn't mention any specific values or studies with regards to toxicity.

So I don't know much about fluoride 'Oh my God!' you better report this, maybe to the police. Very sorry about 'using up' your precious time. Maybe I can pay you for your painful experience.

Your patronising arrogant response is something that will not make you very popular around here I'm afraid. Maybe that was the deal over at 'Curezone' (never heard of it) but here we are respectful towards fellow members. You speak to me like that again and I will cut you severely with my response. Judging by how you articulate yourself I wouldn't have any problems in that area.

So yeah pleased to meet you. Welcome to Imminst.

Yes fluoride poisoning is a real medical condition, but unless you actually consume a half a tube of tooth paste then you are probably fine.

As for some whole "chronic fluoride poisoning" thingy, it's a tinfoil-hat argument there's just no legitimate evidence of this.

I acually want to apologise about this response. I still think your attitude stunk but to be honest why would it mean anything to me. Just don't ever speak to me like that again. No further worries on my end. You can reply to this anyway you like, I don't care really (that's if I haven't scared you off, I was pretty brutal but it's a natural reaction when people constantly make the mistake of underestimating you).
We learn from our mistakes and I have to learn not to take things so personally. You might very well be a twit, but in my mind it shouldn't matter either way. Whatever your intention was in that message I wish you well anyway. Maybe try to be more tactile, coming across as a douche won't get you far in anything buddy.

Fluoride in green tea is measured in parts per million (ppm). 1 ppm is equivalent to 1 milligram of fluoride in 1 litre of water.

In the United States, drinking water can contain up to a maximum of 4 parts per million. This is equivalent to 1 milligram of fluoride in an 8-ounce cup. so you do not need to worry about that.

of course, how many cup a day do you drink? water, sodas, tea, coffee??? multiply these by 360 days in a year, add some other source like tooth paste etc and you'll end up with grams of fluoride in your body.

Right. From what I have read, fluoride bioaccumulates in tissue and there is really no viable means of eliminating excess from one's body.

I use a fluoride-free liquid green tea extract and have been using fluoride-free oral hygiene products for quite a long period of time. I still wonder how much I have accumulated throughout the years and what impact that accumulation may have on my long term health and lifespan.

No means of eliminating excess? That doesn't sound right.

I think he means that the net accumulation over time (e.g. in bones) cannot be prevented or reversed once it has occurred. However, the pathophysiological significance of accumulation must be established first before tweaking your fluoride intake. (also e.g. whether and how accumulation depends on your intake!)
