I've been taking some adrenal support pills by Jarrow Formulas along with Chyawanprash and have been feeling better - more natural feeling energy and calmness.

In the adrenal support pills are:

Vitamin C 100mg
Vitamin B5 250mg
Chamomile 125mg
Shatavari 100mg
Gotu Kola 100mg
Rhodiola Rosea 100mg
Eleuthero 100mg
Licorice 100mg
Ashwagandha 100mg
Schizandra 80mg
DMAE 25mg

Seems like a good low dose amount of calming adaptogens in there and has had a good effect with no down side. Today I took them with a 800mg dose of Piracetam and 500mg ALCAR, which I've taken plenty in the past and have had no issues with such small amounts, but as time went on I got more and more brain fog, less focus, and a pounding headache. I had to take ibuprofen and caffeine to get rid of it and the headache is still lingering some. Because of the effects it's obviously bad to combine, I'm just clueless as to the reason. Abstractly I'm thinking the calming effects + the nootropics speed boosting effects are conflicting. I can't wait for the nootropics to wear off.

I've taken that same formula a number of times along with:

piracetam
aniracetam
ALCAR
lecithin
DMAE
cordyceps
L-tyrosine
green tea extract
vitamin B complex
multivitamin
vitamin C
maca
ashwagandha
taurine

all at the same time.

I haven't once had brain fog or a headache from that combo. If any one can tell me if that combo is dangerous/counter productive I'd really appreciate your feedback. Thanks.

Could you elaborate on what you believe the positive effects of the Chyawanprash have been, and what brand you are taking?

As I recall, you mentioned chronic fatigue in some of your posts. I've got the same issue and I'm fairly young, 28. I'm going to have adrenal tests done soon - thyroid and glycemic index never pointed to anything. Chyawanprash for me mildly affects many different areas. I view it as a superior multivitamin - or how a multivitamin should work. I take a multivitamin too, but have never felt any difference from that. I've mainly noticed more positive mood enhancing, wakefulness, alertness and... I guess the only word to describe it is vitality (my body feels a little toxic without it - maybe heavy metals have something to do with it). I'm using the Himalayan Institute brand. The stuff looks like and has the consistency of tar, but tastes like spiced pumpkin, black licorice and mint mixed together.
