I got a few questions for you and if you answer I'll call you my daddy

What do you do for a living?

Where do you see yourself going?

Are you a man?  If so, gay or straight?

For someone that expunges so much garbage online you would think you'd post a picture at-least.  Why haven't you posted a picture?

Answer these questions and I'll say whatever you want me to say baby

According to his profile, he is a 27 year old male. Given that most of his posts have been in politics and law, there is a good chance he either is studying in that field or works in that field.

What is it with people going on to an anonymous board and getting upset that someone chooses to remain anonymous? Maybe he doesn't want people to hound him when not on this board........!!

You have an equal chance to have your say here and if convincing, to change peoples minds.

Fair enough, even though I've given biographical details in a number of my posts....

-I work off site as a research analyst/assistant at a think tank in the District of Columbia.
-I have undergraduate degrees in History, International Relations, and International Studies, and Master's degrees in History and International Relations.
-I maintain a residence in the District, but I convinced my employer to allow me to work off site in Iowa City---where my girlfriend is enrolled in the Writers' Workshop program at the University of Iowa---and so I could study for the Foreign Service Exam, which I recently found out that I passed. I moved back to Iowa because the long distance was straining my relationship with my girlfriend, and I wanted to salvage it. But unfortunately, I have to live in Iowa once again.
--I'm from Des Moines, but I boarded in New Hampshire, and went to college in the Midwest, the District of Columbia, and Boston. My father is an executive in the insurance industry, and my mother is a former professor turned housewife. I have two brothers, one is an architect, and the other is studying biochemistry.
-As for my future, it looks like I'll probably be working for the State Department as a Foreign Service Officer, but I have to pass the oral examination in early December. But I have no worries.
-My sexual orientation is straight, but I don't see how that's a pertinent question.
-I considered posting a picture in my profile, but decided to use a picture of George Kennan, whom I revere, and wanted to use for symbolic power. Most people here do one or the other. But I'll provide an attachment of a picture of my Balkan consumption partner and I: Attached File  Katarina and I.jpg   29.19KB   86 downloads

Okay, now that I've been more than forthcoming, it's your turn. Because I have some nagging questions about your background.

Your background ascribes to the perception I had of you living a sheltered existence.  I think your commentary in these forums were more than telling.  You would think at some point in your life you would be exposed to the inherent inequalities of people though, from the poor white in Iowa, or the different ethnicities in DC, but obviously not.  I guess this is why you believe in Liberalism.

Is the reason you studied History and International relations because you don't like yourself and are looking elsewhere for an escape?  Why would you leave a good job in a metropolitan to follow a woman to Iowa? You sound needy and really unsure of yourself.  I'd even wager a bet at this point that you're a closeted homosexual.

Every time I read one of your posts it boggles my mind how someone could be so fanatically left of center.  What was it that made you this way? Was it the sheltered life?

Okay, I've indulged k4t, but I think I'll return to my former practice of ignoring him. Despite my initial reluctance to get drawn into another pointless exchange, I decided that since I've been here for awhile, his pathetic challenge might be a good opportunity to satisfy the likely curiosities of other members. But I must say, he is the single most repulsive individual that I've ever encountered on this forum, and I think I might have been better off starting a Introduce Yourself thread instead. He's permanently lost, so I see no point of acknowledging him anymore. I just can't summon the necessary sympathy, because such is greatly outweighed by conflicting feelings---disgust primarily.

I'm actually taking far less drugs and supplements, and feeling qualitatively better. In the near future, I'll update my regimen thread.

Yeah, try and ignore me, that's the easy way, instead of, you know? A rational debate when I challenge your positions?

Two things are noted:

1)You try and silence anything i say like a typical fascist and fanatically neg my posts all for doing the unspeakable thing of disagreeing with you.  All you're doing is putting yourself in a position of hypocrisy.

2)If you're a Liberal that;s fine.  But you cant impose your beliefs on others, and when people do challenge you on your opinions the sensible and mature thing would be a debate.  You're incapable of this because you don't even have points of contention or know why you're even a Liberal.

I'm unaffected by your puerile invective on these threads, especially since it's coming from a pompous Liberal who is constantly brought down to size by my superior logic and brain.

Really, I don't know whether to be more flattered or amused by this thread---my girlfriend finds it more humorous at least. I mean, can anyone claim to be the subject of obsession of an irretrievably repugnant philistine, whose inexorably compromised mind and social exile propel a laughably strained effort to validate a bleak existence of little exception or hope? Honestly, how many members have threads devoted to them? I get the impression that he's a few steps away from embarking on a murderous rampage against randomly selected racial/ethnic minorities, homosexuals, and political liberals. So I'm looking forward to being featured in the consequential media coverage.

Very cool, and I wish you the best of luck. If you do end up living in Iowa City, you'll find it refreshingly and starkly different from the rest of the state. Indeed, conservatives disparagingly call it the People's Republic of Iowa City. What department are you interviewing with next month?

It's really just a backup if we can't come up with the next level of funding for our company. Things here are going well, so we'll see.

You don't have much of a clue. Liberals are so right wing.

From the somg "Love me, I'm a Liberal"

I vote for the democratic party
They want the U.N. to be strong
I go to all the Pete Seeger concerts
He sure gets me singing those songs
I'll send all the money you ask for
But don't ask me to come on along
So love me, love me, love me, I'm a liberal

Once I was young and impulsive
I wore every conceivable pin
Even went to the socialist meetings
Learned all the old union hymns
But I've grown older and wiser
And that's why I'm turning you in
So love me, love me, love me, I'm a liberal

k4t - Rol82 answered your request to tell us more about his background. He agreed, provided you do the same. You have not. We're still waiting.

He's probably writing from a small shack in the wilderness of somewhere remote in Canada, composing his schizophrenic manifesto furiously, and preparing letter and pipe bombs to be sent to liberal faculty members at different universities in the provinces.

I'm about the same age as you.  I studied Economics in University and have been self employed since.  Middle class.  Mixed European background (Northern European and Northern Italian Lombard).  I'm a-political, but if i had to choose I'd say I'm a Libertarian.  I'm just passing time by making anti-Liberal threads as I know you're all high-strung and overly sensitive - which leads to impassioned debates. I was just joking around here because I didn't figure you were easily offended.

Anywho, hope that answers your questions about me. Feel free to ask and I'll fill in whatever blanks you have.

It's too bad you're not interviewing with the Department of Internal Medicine or Psychiatry, because I'm either very or somewhat friendly with a handful of the faculty members. But with neurology, even though there's some overlap with the professionals I have connections with, I don't really know anyone beyond a two minute conversation. However, if you need any lodging, entertainment, or restaurant recommendations, feel free to ask.

Due to the difficulty of harmonizing cultural, legal, political, and normative differences, it wouldn't be an easy project----but it's nonetheless a logical means of fortifying against adversity. However, I think we should take a cue from the European Union project, and move at a crawling pace. An agreement on customs, central banking, currency, and national defense should be some of the first issues of consideration. But even these initial stages would be just abstract unless private citizenry were mobilized into an effective grassroots movement, and there is nowhere close to such a movement. Anyway, I think the qualitative differences between both countries are greatly exaggerated, and what comparative differences do exist wouldn't come close to preclude a closer union. Further, due to the volume of trade, and multiple areas of commonality, the EU, the Caribbean, Central America, and Oceania could also possibly be a part of a larger union----but such must be preceded by a working framework for governance. Of more importance, I believe it's worth saying that my comments were ill-advised, and merely represented an attempt to have fun with cliches and allusions to eccentric home bred political terrorists.

Yeah, but I think a West Germany-like arrangement would be cooler, with a few exclaves here and there.

I have an idea. Why don't all the democrats of America move to Canada and the northern states and then we can have an old North vs South war! We'll show those Jesus Land freaks who's boss!
