Hello,

I'm planning to take N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine (900 mg) and Taurine (1000 mg or more) for detoxification, liver support and general purposes. So I'm asking if both can be taken together at the same time, preferably on empty stomach in the morning? Or do they compete in absorption and would it be better to take them separately (NAC in the morning, Taurine at bedtime)? Or maybe I should take them alternating weekly?

What do you guys think about that?

PS: I've been an interested reader of this forum for a long time and this is my very first own post ... :-D

Thank you in advance,
best regards,

capricorn

I believe if you search the forums a bit that you will find links to research supporting taking NAC before bed rather than in the AM.

Liver support/regeneration: Milk Thistle.

I use both a standardised extract and liquid tincture, for when I feel I need it, usually for periods of a week or 2

Not a fan of NAC, myself. See this and this thread for more info.

Taurine seems alright if you want to spend the money on it. You won't notice any effects from it, though that doesn't mean it's not working.

NAC can be tough on your stomach, so I'd suggest reduced L-Glutathione instead. Especially the Setria brand.
