Recently I've gotten a white spot in my mouth, what is this called? My doctor said that it was nothing dangerous.

Would need pictures to have an idea. The most common thing would be Fordyce's granules which more than 80% of people have. Moving down the list from that would be leukoplakia, irritation fibroma, linea alba, Candida, etc. There are even things that look pretty severe like White sponge nevus that are completely harmless.
