In Romans 6:23 we read
"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

I translate this based on the teachings of Jesus the Christ to mean:

error = death

It is a fact that error or sin is the greatest single cause of death in humans. If you fall and kill yourself then the error or sin of not watching where you were going killed you, not mearly the fall itself. If you smoke cigarettes and die of cancer then the error or sin of smoking is what kills you not the cancer. If you drink yourself to death with alcohol then the error or sin of excessive drink is what kills you. It is not the substance or the circumstance but the error that kills you.

Christ tried to teach people how to live a life without sin or error. He even taught us how to overcome the so called "original sin" of being born into a corruptable body that is prone to death through error or sin. His teaching included finding the presence of God within us and learning to overcome error or sin through communication with this divine presence.

We read in Luke 17:20-21
"And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you."

Now since Christ taught that the "kingdom of God is with us" then certainly the presence of God is also within us. This presence which identified itself to Moses as "I Am that I Am, is the same presence that dwells within us and teaches us if we seek out that teaching of how to overcome fear, doubt, and then finally death. This teaching is ignored by a lot of Christian faiths because this would make us all able to become immortals and live a life like Christ with all of his power and abilities such as healing the sick and raising the dead.

Well that is my thoughts from the lessons in immortality from Jesus Christ for the day.

Also, somewhere in the bible it says...."god has set eternity in the hearts of men". Ecclesiatstes 3:11

So obviously god has meant for us to live forever...right, otherwise he wouldn't have put eternity in our hearts.

Of course one of the maddening things about the bible is all the different translations.

In my St. Joseph's medium sized edition it says "He has made everything appropriate to its time, and has put the timeless into their hearts...."

In the Giddeon's Bible it says "He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart....."

An online search brought this slightly different version "He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in their hearts..."

Some interesting bible quotes from the King James Version:

"And it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment" (Hebrews 9:27)

"..the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing" (Ecclesiastes 9:5)

"And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years. (Genesis 6:3)

"The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away" (Psalms 90:10)

"For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away." (James 4:14)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The King James Version is only one translation of the bible, there are many.

Many religions focus on the differences in translations or transliterations of the bible.

"The King James Version (KJV) is an English translation of the Holy Bible, commissioned for the benefit of the Church of England at the behest of King James I of England. First published in 1611, it has had a profound impact on not only most English translations that have followed it, but also on English literature as a whole."

"It is considered to be an instrumental founding block of modern English, and remains one of the most widely-read literary works from its time, surpassed only by the works of playwright William Shakespeare."

I have thought about the various translations of the Bible and also about the choices for which books would be included and which ones would not be included. The part of the Bible I find of the most use for living a good life is the teachings of Christ.

His contribution being mostly verbal that was written down has always puzzled me. A man of obvious literacy and intelligence and an important teacher but he never wrote a book to share any of his wisdom with humankind. That is kind of strange to me.

The most important part is his teaching to me has been on discovery of the living source of the word of God, the I Am that I Am. Once communication with the divine information source that Christ was tapped into is realized by any individual he or she will no longer need to learn from watered down truth that is filtered or altered over time for the convinience of the church or government.

Once a person has developed communication with this personal spiritual trainer from within the person no longer has to go just on faith about what is the correct teaching. The source is right there and no dilution of the information is between the person and the creative information source.

I think this is why this teaching is not highlighted in most Christian faiths. The churches like to be the source for authentic information. This keeps people dependant and weak. The information leads nowhere and people of intellect fall away from the church due to a lack of performance from the church to provide fresh answers to fresh questions from a growing and changing body of information available to mankind through science.

An initial leap of faith is required to find this presence within us but once communication is established and secure the faith turns into knowing. Knowing something from intuition is personal but it is very real. It is a shame that no mainstream church is willing to give up their monopoly on the truth and direct their members to establish a direct line of communication as Christ taught his students. If they did of course people would develop real power from this authentic communication with the source of all creation.

Vortex Entity,

The churches like to be the source for authentic information?
Maybe, you meant to say, ''the source for information''.

If there's one thing we cannot trust them for is 'authenticity'.
Anyway, even if a modern day priest wanted to 'inform' us more as regards our spiritual nature, still, he would likely be just as uninformed, himself.
The original teachings have been interpreted in so many ways, it is impossible to believe everything wholeheartedly. To make matters worse, just look at the differences between the so-called Christian sects--catholics, protestants, J. witnesses,etc.,etc.) Egoism knows no boundaries.

The church is good only for those that need emotional support. You cannot expect to find answers to your philosophical questions. Much less for your questions of a more mystical nature. One has to understand that those so-called preachers are merely orators well-versed in the so-called teachings. As far as teaching is concerned, they cannot teach what they themselves do not know. Some might, and like you say, they are not telling. Just like the pharmacists that sell the diluted medicines.

If you want real knowledge(mystical) ,you're better off if you find yourself some good books elsewhere. You don't have to go Eastern( Hinduism or Buddhism), although, it would help a great deal. For starters, anything similar to the Rosicrucians will help you get started. Stories about the afterlife by real life ,everyday people. People who have had their own experiences. Right now, you don't even have to spend a cent. There's a lot of good stuff on the internet.

The source that Jesus relied on, the I AM prescence that you mention is in his hands now. He is not on the same level as before. If anyone should desire to meditate on the I AM presence that he, himself, spoke to, it would be possible until one has had a thorough understanding of what he(Jesus) himself is teaching you. You cannot know the Father , if you do not know the Son. And then again, that doesn't guarantee you anything. The best thing to do is to first understand spirit itself. The Eastern mystics call it the impersonal form of God. Even they, start at the bottom of the ladder, before they start getting glimpses of their personal God or gods.

Once, one has become familiar with a little something here and there(the books) , if the person is ready, spirit will most likely start sending the signs he or she can understand, through the dream state. It won't be long before such person will realize that this life is only a dream, manifested in the gross material elements. For some, this dream is rather pleasant, and thus, their desire to stretch it to infinity. For others, it is actually, a nightmare, thus, their desire to end it as soon as possible. There are many factors that determine whether we will get our desires. The main one is karma. But that is a more complex subject than is readily understood. We all reap what we have sown in our previous lives. Those are the rules. One cannot be a murderer in this life and expect to be a righteous king in the next.

And like you said, Vortex Entity, intuition does also play a major role in our spiritual development. One has to get accustomed to it. It doesn't work like magic, but in time it becomes like a mirror. A mirror that reflects what's really going on, on the other side. This world is only the reflection of the real world. The problem is that people don't want to believe that. To those that don't believe, especially right now, don't worry. Spirit is in no hurry. After all, Spirit has all eternity in its hands. The choice is up to you.

P.S. The goals of this institute are to work with, or do research concerning physical life and extend it. Also, to prevent, if at all possible , death itself. I have nothing against it. There are some people that have hinted at the immediate future of this planet, and its ascension into fourth dimension. They call it, bringing heaven to Earth. And us humans going from limited consciousness to full consciousness. Supposedly, we won't have to die. We'll just go to wherever we please--more advanced planetary worlds,or the spiritual world, for that matter.

On this, I also leave it up to the reader to believe,or not. I,myself, am more of a spirit freak, but I do believe in UFO's.

Never have I followed the words of Jesus in the Bible more than I do now. My favourite quote is to "Be in this world, but not of this world." Which I personally translate, as playing your part in earthly duties, but not allowing the world around to dictate and mould ones thoughts.
Nature is all around us, brimmed with death. Society looks at nature and thinks, that must mean it is the way it should be. In my mind, we are not a reflection of this world, the world is a reflection of us. As it stands, any Immortalist who allows the world to dictate his/her path, will find it near impossible to be Master of his own body and therefore conquer death.
