Yeah, alive, close to doing well.
This neurotoxicity, does it creep up on you? would I be experiencing headaches or brain fog or anything out of the ordinary if something was going wrong?
Well, dopamine is naturally neurotoxic. For some reason, it is that way. So, that threat is always present regardless of even medications. MAOi's I believe can help that. Even reuptake inhibitors can help that. The other problem would be anything damaging the DNA of the mitochondria. So, as far as symptomatology or anything like that, I would watch for the worst symptoms and anything that causes unbearable dysfunction. There is no test that I know of for neurotoxicity or mtDNA damage or damage to neurotrophic factors and there are people who take this stuff for many years. I think as long as your neurotrophic factors are working good there should not be too much to worry about but science I don't think can figure even when that stops working or if it is working properly. So, I guess the best thing to do is take the best antioxidants and be vigilant for the worst side effects. I don't know if your brain replaces damaged cells in all parts of the brain or if it is just in certain areas. If it is all then the ones bupropion damages will be replaced and you have nothing to worry about and if they cannot be replaced then you would certainly have something to worry about. Chemicals found in nature via plants or herbs come in variety and quantity whether that is for the plants benefit or the benefit of the consumer you will have to decide. I believe it is for the benefit of the consumer. Professor Youdim who I think helped to make rasagiline thinks that drugs should come in chemical packages like they do in plants because often times one chemical is just not enough.
