OK I was ordering some non-nootropic stuff from 1fast and realized that I wanted to add alpha GPC to my CDP choline. A search suggested that the GPC which he sells bulk doesn't have much of a taste, so I ordered some. Are there any other relevant supps which either don't have much of a taste, or at least not very bad (there is a rather entertaining description of piracetam over at avant so I know that is not one).

Oh and I have no interest in capping.

Thanks.

Aniracetam dose not taste near as bad as Piracetam. I like to take chocamine, aniracetam and Alpha-GPC in my protien shake and can deal with the taste of that combo without capping.

True, aniracetam tastes neutral.
Does your aniracetam sparkle in the light?

Yes it does. The first batch did not.

Worth noting, I douse my piracetam with ruby grapefruit juice and can't even tell it is there. I've also used unsweetened coffee, cranberry juice, pomegranate juice, etc. with decent success. Individuals on another board recommend OJ and other substances.

When I recently began adding in Vinpo-C from Rizzer, however, I found that the grapefruit juice with piracetam left a horrid aftertaste. Not unmanagable, but certainly not invisible. I do cap that one now, as well as aniracetam. While the aniracetam has nearly no taste, it simply doesn't dissolve in liquids.

I don't know what all the talk about piracetam is about. As standard practice I place 2 grams directly on my tongue and wash it down with a slug of water. No problem whatsoever.

Anyone else here feel that piracetam isn't that bad.

I like to cap my nootropics mostly. I like the ones that do not taste too bad because when I have as much in the caps as will fit easy I just take the rest as powder and wash it down with some lemonade. Lemonade is also good for hiding the taste of ALCAR.

Alcar is another supplement that does not bother me, whatsoever.

I guess I'd say centrophenoxine tastes pretty bad as far as nootropics go.

I have not tried centrophenoxine in bulk powder yet. I have tried it in caps. I tried DMAE in power bulk and that was nasty so I imagine that centrophenoxine is just as bad. I kind of like ALCAR straight. It is like when I was a kid and we would get packets of twang lemon lime salt and eat it straight out of the little packets. Kind of puckers you up but it is not too bad.

The first Alpha-GPC I got from 1fast400 tasted like straight dextrose so I weighed out a dose of 500mg and took it and got the tight neck I get from too much choline so I knew it was not just a bunch of dextrose. The new batch I just got was a fine powder that has very little taste but is still slightly sweet. I would swear it has a higher content of Alpha-GPC than the kind of crystal form that the first batch was in.

scottl,

Some questions:

What is the reason for not capping them?
How do you plan on measuring the dosage quickly? Is there a good device for that?

For me I dont like swallowing so many pills. Also, I think -cetams take a while to get in the brain.... I want to wake up and get the pills working in the morning.

My aminos I experimented with are pretty tastless, powdery actually. Glutamine is lightly sweet. I have taurine, tyrosone and D,L-phenylalnine, too.

ALCarnitine is tart tasting, however, but almost managable for me.

Thanks folks.

"How do you plan on measuring the dosage quickly?"

For the alpha GPC wouldn't I be able to use some teaspoon measure? e.g. 1/8 or 1/4 tsp? Guess I'm used to powdered amino acids.

Pinball the reason for not capping is that I refuse to deal with doing so.

"How do you plan on measuring the dosage quickly?"

You need to have a fine scale that measures down to 0.05g or atleast to 0.1g and then see how much fits in a 1/8, 1,4 spoon. Once you know you can eyeball it from then on.

They probably arent considered nootropics, but L-theanine, taurine, and inositol are all either tasty or pretty mild in taste. (inositol is sweet)

I'm use to BAC and 1fast e.g. the bottle for 1fast's taurine says flat 1/4 tsp =840 mg. So other supplier's don't supply this info?

smi2le does not (surprise). However, I initially approximated my doses using the 1fast400 information for Piracetam. Once I acquired my 2mg scale, I double-checked those figures and found that a flat ¼ tsp of smi2le's product was coming out around 1000 or slightly greater. Now I just use a ¼ tsp to dump on to my scale, verify weight, and pour into a cup.

I also use this scale to cap other substances (such as Aniracetam and Vinpo-C) for ease of use. I haven't broken into my Choline from smi2le, but I expect I might need to cap it as well.
