I've heard modafinil has stimulating affects(not sure if that's the right terminology) and I was wondering if it's not good to take it if you have anxiety. I also have deppresion so does it help any of the symptoms of depression as well? Can I take modafinil with other medications? I'm taking an SNRI called Vanlafaxine. Would it be a good idea to take a DRI with an SNRI?

It certainly gave me anxiety at 50 mg dose as the effects were wearing off and also noticed an itch. I tried modalert.
Wonder if this is different if you try other versions such as modapro or adrafanil.

It is supposed to give you more of a "clean" awake, with out the anxiety, when I have coffee I tend to get a bit anxious/jittery when I have too much.

It is just that though, there are no cognitive benefits, unless you are tired all the time in general and this would resolve this issue.

I have some modafinil but find no use for it really, unless I was going to pull and all nighter which I never do.

Modafinil should work fine with venlafaxine. While modafinil's DRI properties are pretty weak, it and other (stronger) DRI's such as Focalin are safe with effexor as long as you don't take crazy high doses.

It does improve cognition even in non-fatigued people, but the effects are pretty mild. That's probably why Imagination said there are no cognitive benefits; you wouldn't notice them unless you were taking a neuropsychological test.

But, like he also said, your cognition WILL be improved if you're fatigued. Modafinil effectively counters the fatigue and lethargy of depression, but you shouldn't use it for this every day. Tolerance develops rapidly. Save it for times when you need it.

It doesn't usually give people anxiety, but I don't think it's been tested in people with anxiety disorders. Like any stimulant, it could aggravate pre-existing anxiety.

You could try picamilon to prevent aggravation of the anxiety; at low doses it's a non-sedating anxiolytic and at higher doses it also has a mild stimulating effect while still preventing anxiety. But check the supplier threads around here -- there seems to be a lot of fake picamilon out there, which leads a lot of people to say that picamilon does nothing. Also, some people just don't respond even to genuine picamilon at any dose. So it could be worth a try, but it's up to you to decide if it's worth pursuing.

Is Picamillon from relentless improvement genuine?

A 50 mg dose (Modalert) does not give me anxiety, however redosing on the same day (even hours later) will gives me anxiety, so you may experience adverse effects.

Which modafinil version will be less likely to give you an itch. I tried modalert but noticed slight itch. Would any of the other such as armodafinil or adrafinil etc be a better shot at limiting the itch? I really had a nice effect on me, i was so alert, i don't wanna stop this, if anyone has knowledge please enlighten me.
