I only recently stumbled upon this forum and must say that it is a great source of info. For a number of years, I have been using supplements from Now Foods, Life Extension, Nordic Naturals, Doctor's best and Jarrow. Although I've been more than happy with the quality of these brands, I would like to replace certain branded supplements by bulk substitutes.

Currently, the top five most expensive supplements per month I'm taking are: fish oil (Nordic Naturals), ALCAR (Doctor's Best), multivit (Life Extension), Acetyl-L Tyrosine (Jarrow) and 5-HTP (Now Foods). It doesn't seem likely that the fish oil and multivit can be replaced, but I've noticed that bulk ALCAR and Acetyl-L Tyrosine are significantly less expensive than the branded versions.

However, I'm still a bit doubtful of the quality. Is the quality of bulk supplements comparable to that of branded products? I understand it also depends on the source of origin, but how could you possibly determine that. Could anyone give me a number of good bulk suppliers (shipping to the EU) that are known for carrying qualitatively high products?

The purity of bulk supplements is often superior to many of the branded and bottled products because there are usually no extra fillers or binders thrown in. It is still important to keep an eye towards quality when buying bulk, but you should generally be able to find 99% specification on most of the supplements you are interested in.

Nordic Naturals is a very expensive fish oil brand.
