I have just been looking into cayenne pepper recently, it has many health benifits that I won't go into here, but the main one is it improves vasodialation and hence blood flow around the body, which would also include the brain.

So I thinking it may act as a good nootropic, similar to other blood flow enhancing nootropics like ginkgo, vinpocetine etc...

It is also pretty good at counteracting vasoconstriction that many people will get from stimulatants they use in there nootropic stacks, like caffiene or nicotine that will reduce blood flow.

I have tried the cayenne pepper for a couple of days now, so far it does give quite a good energy boost that is noticable that would have some benifit to peoples studies alone, and also the blood flow enhancing properties are definately there... I can see my veins up a lot more.

I haven't really had to study much recently so can't test out the nootropic properties fully from from the blood flow increasing capabilites it has, but I will look out for anything in work this week.

It's really cheap to buy in almost any food store, you can get it in pill form that will avoid the hotness but they just seem to be over 20 times the price you would get for the actual powder in the supermarket, and the pill form isn't even extract, it's exactly the same stuff. You could always cap it, as it is hot has hell, but mixed with a good amount of water it's not too bad.

Thoughts anyone?

I take -00- caps with cayenne in it. 130 heat units. I like the way I feel in response to it. On an empty stomach it can make you sick. With food it will create a warm feel good response. I don't know about the effect on the brain, but five -00- 130 heat unit caps with food is enough for a long lasting warm flush feeling.

Being from LA I suffer from cayanne addiction. If I'm go somewhere and stay for any length of time where it's not used on a regular basis in the food I find myself craving it. Other "hot" spice just doesn't satisfy the craving.
