I just got boric and and applied it to the irritated region (I dissolved the boric acid powder into cold water). Do I have to soak the irritated region? It just dries off (does the boric acid stay there when it dries off)? Is it okay if it causes a little irritation?

Whenever I can't find it at the pharmacy I buy roach poison that is 100% boric acid. It's the same thing. Dissolve it in hot water and when it cools, apply it with a cloth. Keep doing this a few times a day until it goes away.

Any thoughts on the boric acid ointment I linked to earlier?

They work well but have to be combined with an antifungal/antibiotic if it is an infection (as opposed to contact dermititis/eczema), because they suppress the immune response.

I have reached the end of my anti-fungal rope. I mean the lamisil works a little bit to remove the fungal build up but it isn't stopping the itching as much as I would like. Next, I try a boric acid ointment, and then see a derm for a prescription of some sort.

Oh okay.

Looks like corticosteroids can only be used temporarily though. =/ Do the effects last after they're applied? What are the differences between corticosteroid injections and topical corticosteroid application? Supposedly, the injections last for a long time - but how?

Has anyone tried Doxycycline ?

So far the boric acid ointment is helping more than the lamisil or tolnaftate did, though I am still experiencing itching when it rubs off. But the first couple of times I put it on I experienced almost instant relief. I can't imagine that boric powder would stay on the skin without making a mess. Try the ointment.

Does anyone have any opinions about what would happen when mixing OTC hydrocortisone with something like lamisil?

Okay, I am very close to ordering a corticosteroid off alldaychemist. While i'm at it I may as well go for a prescription anti-fungal cream as well. Any suggestions?

Lotrisone (Clotrimazole and Metabethasone) contains an antifungal and corticosteroid. This is what my GP prescribes to me for this problem.
