considering the quince fruit may have been the "apple" that Adam and Even may have eaten, this actually taste like a hint of green apple but not as juicy, perhaps a bit like Thai Guavas (those giant guavas), slightly pear-ish as well in taste and texture, perhaps a bit like Jicama, not as juicy, not as dry. The smell is slightly pear-ish with a hint of green apples. Maybe this is a bit over ripened considering the color is yellow-ish, the aroma is strong and some slight rot on the other side. I'm not sure if I should eat the peel so I only ate it without the peel. I would have to contact the producers of this California Quince to find out which species this fruit came from. It is actually "sweet-er" than what people described it as online and can be eaten as is. Not sure why the stuff I've read online stated it be made into a jam or boiled and sweetened. One could consider this fruit not as sweet as its aroma. Maybe this is what tempted Adam and Even to this fruit. ![]()
